Alberto Gutman (January 4, 1959 – February 16, 2019) was a Cuban-American politician. Born to a Jewish family in Havana, Cuba, he moved to the United States when he was 6 years old. Early life He lived and went to school in Miami Beach, Florida. He entered politics and became a member of the Republican Party. He was elected Member of Florida House of Representatives, 1984–92; member of Florida Senate 34th District, 1992–99. He is a member of the Freemasons, B'nai B'rith, Phi Kappa Phi, and Phi Theta Kappa. He was married and had two daughters. ''The Maltese Falcon'' is a 1930 detective novel by American writer Dashiell Hammett, originally serialized in the magazine '' Black Mask'' beginning with the September 1929 issue. The story is told entirely in external third-person narrative; there is no description whatsoever of any character's thoughts or feelings, only what they say and do, and how they look. The novel has been adapted several times for the cinema. Biography Gutman received a B.A. degree from Haverford College with a major in History and an MSc. degree from the London School of Economics in International Relations. Roy Gutman joined Newsday in January 1982 and served for eight years as national security reporter in Washington. While European bureau chief, from 1989 to 1994, he reported on the downfall of the Polish, East German, and Czechoslovak regimes, the opening of the Berlin Wall, the unification of Germany, the first democratic elections in the former Eastern Bloc, and the violent disintegration of Yugoslavia. René Gutman (born in Rouen in 1950) was Chief Rabbi of Strasbourg from 1987 to 2017. Biography René Gutman grew up in Rouen, where his father Alexandre Gutman was the local rabbi.
