Gut Moor
(lit. ''Manor Moor'') is a quarter of Hamburg, Germany, in the borough of Harburg on its southeastern boundaries adjacent to Harburg district in Niedersachsen. It is one of the smallest quarters of Hamburg. 133 inhabitants lived in an area of 1.97 km2 in 2016. Geography Gut Moor borders the quarters of Neuland, Harburg, Wilstorf, and Rönneburg. Gut Moor is located in the marshlands near the ancient Elbe valley (Elbe Urstromtal). History In 1540, Otto I, Duke of Brunswick-Harburg, had his workers trench the canal of Seevekanal through the Meckelfeld moor to drain the area. The Free Democratic Party (german: link=no, Freie Demokratische Partei; FDP, ) is a liberal political party in Germany. The FDP was founded in 1948 by members of former liberal political parties which existed in Germany before World War II, namely the German Democratic Party and the German People's Party. Hamburg-Harburg or Harburg (german: Bahnhof Hamburg-Harburg) is one of four operational main-line railway stations (''Fernbahnhöfe'') in the city of Hamburg, Germany. Duke William Augustus of Brunswick-Lüneburg-Harburg (15 March 1564 in Harburg – 30 March 1642 in Harburg) was Duke of Brunswick-Lüneburg-Harburg. Life William Augustus was a son of Duke Otto II of Brunswick-Harburg (1528-1603) from his second marriage with Hedwig (1535-1616), the daughter of the Count Enno II of East Frisia.
