Gunnar Persson
Gunnar Persson (13 October 1933 – 8 April 2018) was a Swedish cartoonist and comic creator. He was the son of Elov Persson, creator of one of Sweden's oldest comic strip characters, '' Kronblom''. Gunnar began drawing the Kronblom comic strip in 1968 when his father's health got worse. Prior to Kronblom, Gunnar Persson had already drawn the comic strips ''Gus'' and ''Herr Larsson'' in the comic book '' 91:an''. Elov Persson
Elov V Persson (10 July 1894 – 9 July 1970) was a Swedish comic artist. He created one of Sweden's most popular comic strips, '' Kronblom''. Born in Hästbo, a dispersed settlement in Hofors Municipality, Gästrikland, Elov Persson created ''Kronblom'' in 1927 and the strip was published in the magazine ''Vårt Hem''. A year after the creation of ''Kronblom'', Persson created another comic strip, '' Agust och Lotta'' (August and Lotta). ''Kronblom'' was such a part of Sweden's popular culture that two live-action film versions were produced, ' in 1947 and ' in 1949, with popular star Ludde Gentzel, 62 years old at the time of the first film's production, playing the slow-moving, but quick-thinking title character. Persson appeared in the first film playing an unbilled cameo as himself. Elov Persson died in Torsåker, one day before his 76th birthday. A comic strip is a sequence of drawings, often cartoons, arranged in interrelated panels to display brief humor or form a narrative, often serialized, with text in balloons and captions. Kronblom
''Kronblom'' is a popular Swedish comic strip created by Elov Persson in 1927. It is published biweekly in Sweden in the comic book '' 91:an'', along with a number of other comic strips, and in the weekly magazine ''Allers''. Elov's son, Gunnar Persson, took over the comic strip in 1968 when his father died. Jonas Persson, Gunnar's son, started drawing the comic strip in 2006 together with his father. Characters and story Kronblom is a man in his sixties who lives with his wife Malin in the fictional Swedish village "Vinkelboda" (partly based on Elov Persson's home village Torsåker). Lambiek
Galerie Lambiek is a Dutch comic book store and art gallery in Amsterdam, founded on November 8, 1968 by Kees Kousemaker (, – Bussum, ), though since 2007, his son Boris Kousemaker is the current owner. From 1968 to 2015, it was located in the Kerkstraat, but in November 2015, the store moved to the Koningsstraat 27. As of 2018, Lambiek is the oldest comics store in Europe, and the oldest worldwide still in existence. The name "Lambiek" originated as a misspelling of the name of the comics character Lambik, from the popular Suske & Wiske comic book series created by Belgian artist Willy Vandersteen.
