Gunnar Andreas Berg
Gunnar Andreas Berg (born 14 January 1954) is a Norwegian musician, educator, owner of the record label "Bergland Productions". He is known from cooperations with musicians like Palle Mikkelborg, Ole Edvard Antonsen, Bjørn Alterhaug, Siri Gjære, Åge Aleksandersen, and Morten Harket. Career Berg is educated in classical guitar at the Trondheim Musikkonservatorium as well as Berklee College of Music i Boston. Later he was employed as Associated Professor on the Jazz program at NTNU. Berg has released four solo albums. Trondheim
Trondheim ( , , ; sma, Tråante), historically Kaupangen, Nidaros and Trondhjem (), is a city and municipality in Trøndelag county, Norway. Odd Magne Gridseth
Odd Magne Gridseth (born 27 April 1959 in Ørsta, Sunnmøre, Norway) is a Norwegian musician (bass), known from the Trondheim music scene. Biography Gridseth was regular bassist in the band «Soundtrip» together with guitarist Ove Bjørken, drummer Ernst-Wiggo Sandbakk and keyboardist Jan Gunnar Hoff, a collaboration that was continued with the ensemble «Trondheim Bop-service», which included Ernst-Wiggo Sandbakk, Odd André Elveland (tenor saxophone), Ove Bjørken, Torgeir Andresen (trumpet) and Kåre Kolve (alto saxophone). He was also part of Kjersti Stubø Band, and achieved international fame through being part of Siri Gellein's Svaleband (1987–), while attending the Jazz program at Trondheim Coservatory og Music (NTNU). Henning Sommerro
Henning Sommerro (born 3 May 1952 in Surnadal) is a Norwegian musician, composer and professor at NTNU. Biography Sommerro grew up on the Sommerro farm at Skei in Surnadal. His name became widely known in 1977 when the folk music group Vårsøg released their recording of Hans Hyldbakk’s poem ''Vårsøg''. Sommerro had his first lessons in organ and piano at the age of sixteen at the Music Conservatory in Trondheim. He studied organ there from 1970–1974, and from 1974–1976 he was organist in the villages of Stangvik and Todalen. From 1976–1977 he studied organ and composition at the music academy in Basel, and in 1978 he became director of music at the Teatret Vårt theatre in Molde. From 1985–1990 he was director of music at Trøndelag Teater. Additionally in the years 1986–1988 he was a music consultant for Norwegian radio (NRK P2). Kim Ofstad
Kim Ofstad (born 25 November 1969) is a Norwegian drummer. He is best known from collaborations in the pop/soul band D'Sound where he was a member from its inception in 1993 to 2010 and his work with the production team Element. Career Ofstad was born in Trondheim. He got his first drum kit when he was eight years old, and slightly older joined a brass band. He describes his teens as hybridic, as he felt equally at home in jazz clubs as in discothèques. He is a graduate of Heimdal videregående skole where he got his Examen artium in 1988, and studied music at Berklee College of Music in Boston, whence he moved to Oslo, the capital of Norway, in 1991. Here he formed D'Sound (1993) together with Jonny Sjo, a fellow student from Boston, he played with Sofian Benzaim. John Pål Inderberg
John Pål Inderberg (born 6 August 1950 Steinkjer, Norway) is a versatile saxophonist and one of the leading traditional musicians in Norway. His playing synthethises many different styles, not least when in partnership with Norwegian and American jazz musicians - players as contrasting as Gil Evans and Lee Konitz. Career As an earlier member of the new cool quartet, Inderberg gave new popularity to the collective art of improvisation in the 1950s. Inderberg's soprano and baritone sax can be heard on a wide range of recordings. He has toured and recorded with Lee Konitz Store Norske Leksikon and Warne Marsh (saxophone), Chet Baker (trumpet), Bob Brookmeyer (trombone), as well as Siri Gellein and Henning Sommerro.
