Gunerius Pettersen (1857–1940)
Gunerius Pettersen (26 August 1857 – 23 March 1940) was a Norwegian businessperson. He was a son of merchant Gunerius Pettersen (1826–1892) and his wife Iverine, née Grorud (1828–1905). One of his brothers, Hjalmar Pettersen, was a noted librarian and bibliographer. Three other brothers, Harald, Axel and Carl, were Gunerius's business partners. In 1895 he inherited the company founded by and named after his father, Gunerius Pettersen. The company was passed down from his mother, and shared between the brothers Harald, Gunerius, Axel and Carl. They soon made important investments and expansions. A building, ''Storgaten 32'' was bought in 1897, followed by ''Brogaten 2'' and ''4'' in 1912. The company was expanded from a store to also encompass retailing and wholesaling. Gunerius Pettersen (1921)
Gunerius Pettersen (4 June 1921 – 6 May 2012), also known as Gun Pettersen, was a Norwegian businessperson. He was born at the islet Lille Herbern, and grew up in Frogner. He was a grandson of merchant Axel Pettersen, who owned the company Gunerius Pettersen A/S (now: Gunerius Shoppingsenter). Axel owned the company, which was founded by Gunerius Pettersen, together with Harald, Gunerius and Carl Pettersen who were all Gunerius Pettersen's granduncles. A fourth granduncle was Hjalmar Pettersen, the noted a librarian and bibliographer. Pettersen attended Oslo Commerce School and took higher education in St. Gallen. He inherited the family company in 1947, and owned it for some time together with Hjalmar's son Christian Børs Pettersen. Ivar Aavatsmark (11 December 1864 – 1 July 1947) was a Norwegian officer and politician for the Liberal Party. He finished his military career in 1928, as Major General, head of the 2nd Division and Commander of Akershus Fortress. As a politician he was a five-term MP between 1907 and 1921, and served as Minister of Defence from 1919 to 1920 and 1921 to 1923. Gunerius Pettersen (18 September 1826 – 2 April 1892) was a Norwegian businessperson. He founded the company Gunerius Pettersen, today named Gunerius Shoppingsenter. He hailed from Drøbak, but moved to Oslo, Christiania (Oslo) in 1840 to learn the commercial trade. He took apprenticeship at merchant Skappel's shop, and made several advancements there until opening his own business in 1852. He started with an eponymous grocery store, located in ''Brogaten 8''. He also had his residence in a backroom of the store. In 1854, Pettersen bought, and moved his store to a building, ''Storgaten 34'' on the corner of the streets ''Brogaten'' and ''Storgaten''. From the start he specialized in serving the travelling farmers who sold goods in the city, but from 1870 he switched to selling dry goods. The Cemetery of Our Saviour ( no, Vår Frelsers gravlund) is a cemetery in Oslo, Norway, located north of Hammersborg in Gamle Aker district. It is located adjacent to the older Old Aker Cemetery and was created in 1808 as a result of the great famine and cholera epidemic of the Napoleonic Wars. Its grounds were extended in 1911. The cemetery has been full and thus closed for new graves since 1952, with interment only being allowed in existing family graves. The cemetery includes five sections, including ''Æreslunden'', Norway's main honorary burial ground, and the western, southern, eastern and northern sections.
