The Guldbagge for Best Documentary Feature is a Sweden, Swedish film award presented annually by the Swedish Film Institute (SFI) as part of the Guldbagge Awards (Swedish: "Guldbaggen") to award documentary films in the Swedish film, motion picture industry. Swedish Film Institute
The Swedish Film Institute ( sv, Svenska Filminstitutet) was founded in 1963 to support and develop the Swedish film industry. The institute is housed in the ''Filmhuset'' building located in Gärdet, Östermalm in Stockholm. The building, completed in 1970, was designed by architect Peter Celsing. Function The Swedish Film Institute supports Swedish filmmaking and allocates grants for production, distribution and public showing of Swedish films in Sweden. It also promotes Swedish cinema internationally. Furthermore, the Institute organises the annual Guldbagge Awards. The Swedish Film Database is published by the institute. Through the Swedish Film Agreement, between the Swedish state and the film and media industry, the Government of Sweden, the TV companies which were party to the agreement, and Sweden's cinema owners jointly fund the Film Institute and thus, indirectly, Swedish filmmaking. Lars Lennart Forsberg
Lars Lennart Forsberg (31 July 1933 – 3 January 2012) was a Swedish film director and screenwriter. At the 7th Guldbagge Awards his film ''Mistreatment'' won the awards for Best Film and Best Director. He directed 20 films between 1969 and 2005. Carl Johan De Geer
Baron Carl Johan Louis De Geer af Finspång (born 13 July 1938) is a Swedish artist, writer, musician and ''friherre'' (baron) of the De Geer noble family. De Geer was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He grew up in a castle in Skåne, in southern Sweden. He broke with his bourgeois background and became a leftist artist, and studied at Konstfack, University College of Art, Crafts and Design in Stockholm. He also exposed his grandmother's Nazi sympathies in a film called ("Grandmother, Hitler and I"). Most radical and provoking at that time was his 1967 painting of a burning Swedish flag with the words ('COCK') and "" (Desecrate the flag) written on it. The painting was shown in an art gallery, but was immediately confiscated by the police. During the late 1960s he was among the contributors of a satirical magazine, ''Puss'', in Stockholm. Ruben Östlund
Ruben Östlund (born 13 April 1974) is a Swedish filmmaker best known for his black comedic and satirical films ''Force Majeure'' (2014), '' The Square'' (2017) and ''Triangle of Sadness'' (2022), all of which received largely positive reviews and won awards at the Cannes Film Festival, including the Palme d'Or for the latter two. Life and career Östlund was born in Styrsö, Gothenburg Municipality, Sweden. After high school, he started working in various ski resorts in the Alps during the winter seasons. While in the Alps, he began making skiing videos for his friends, which helped him obtain a job at a local production company. He went on to study at the film school in Gothenburg, graduating in 2001. He was accepted to the school based on his skiing films. Magnus, meaning "Great" in Latin, was used as cognomen of Gnaeus Pompeius Magnus in the first century BC.
