Gul, South Khorasan
Gol ( fa, گل, also Romanized as Gul) is a village in Barakuh Rural District, Jolgeh-e Mazhan District, Khusf County, South Khorasan Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 650, in 232 families. It is said that about a few centuries ago, Gol had a much larger population than the Khosf, due to better climate and the amount of groundwater. Due to its remoteness from transportation routes and successive droughts and the lack of attention of the rulers to the agricultural activities, its population has been declining throughout history. According to data obtained from elders of the village, the British and Russians were commuting in this place and there are still the remains of the caravanserais where they stopped and rested. Gul Circle (or Gul) is an area in Jurong Industrial Estate which is the biggest industrial estate in Singapore. Gul is the home to many heavy industries in Singapore. It is bounded by Ayer Rajah Expressway (Jalan Ahmad Ibrahim), Benoi Road, Pioneer Road and Tuas Road. Tuas Fire Station is located at Gul as well. A ''gul'' (also written ''gol'', ''göl'' and ''gül'') is a medallion-like design element typical of traditional hand-woven carpets from Central and West Asia. In Turkmen weavings they are often repeated to form the pattern in the main field. Shape ''Gul'' are medallions, often octagonal, and often somewhat angular on a generally octagonal plan, though they can be somewhat rounded within the constraints of carpet-weaving, and some are lozenge-shaped (rhombuses). They usually have either twofold rotational symmetry or mirror reflection symmetry (often both left/right and up/down). ''Gul'' were historically described in the West as being elephant's foot motifs. Established in 1967 by Dennis Cross, Gul produces watersports apparel. Products include wetsuits, jackets, bodyboards, buoyancy aids, and life jackets. History Gul was founded by Dennis Cross after realising there was a need for a solution to the cold Atlantic waters. After making a makeshift wetsuit, Cross decided to produce the suits on a larger and more professional scale. This resulted in the establishment of the company in 1967. Gul is credited with pioneering the first one-piece wetsuit in 1974/75. It was first nicknamed "the steamer" because of the steam given off from the suit once taken off allowing heat held inside to escape. Further expansion was given to the company when windsurfing was introduced in the mid-1970s, as wetsuits are ideal for the sport. Goulburn Airport is a general aviation airport located south of Goulburn, New South Wales. Throughout the 1990s, suggestions were put forward to have Goulburn airport as a secondary international airport to service Sydney. The Windellama Rd facility was advertised for sale in the United States, Asia Pacific as well as within Australia, it was determined in February 2011 that Goulburn Mulwaree Council sell the Airport to John Ferrara.
