Guilherme Basseto
Guilherme Dias Massê Basseto (born 12 March 1997) is a Brazilian swimmer. He was at the 2017 Summer Universiade in Taipei, Taiwan. He competed in the men's 50 metre backstroke and in the men's 100 metre backstroke events at the 2018 FINA World Swimming Championships (25 m), in Hangzhou, China, reaching the semifinals of both (finished 13th in both). On 25 April 2021, while swimming the mixed medley relay at the Brazilian Olympic Selection Trials, he broke the South American record with a time of 3:45.51, along with Felipe Lima, Giovanna Diamante and Larissa Oliveira. In June 2021, he qualified to represent Brazil at the 2020 Summer Olympics. At the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, he finished 14th in the Mixed 4 × 100 metre medley relay, along with Giovanna Diamante, Felipe Lima and Stephanie Balduccini and 20th in the Men's 100 metre backstroke. Backstroke Swimming
Backstroke or back crawl is one of the four swimming styles used in competitive events regulated by FINA, and the only one of these styles swum on the back. This swimming style has the advantage of easy breathing, but the disadvantage of swimmers not being able to see where they are going. It also has a different start from the other three competition swimming styles. The swimming style is similar to an ''upside down'' front crawl or freestyle. Both backstroke and front crawl are long-axis strokes. In individual medley backstroke is the second style swum; in the medley relay it is the first style swum. Swimming At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Men's 100 Metre Backstroke
The men's 100 metre backstroke event at the 2020 Summer Olympics was held from 25 to 27 July 2021 at the Tokyo Aquatics Centre. It was the event's twenty-sixth appearance, having been held at every edition since 1904 except 1964. Moreover, these Games marked the first time when the men's sprint backstroke event was held in Tokyo, as the event was not included in the swimming program in 1964. Stephanie Balduccini
Stephanie Balduccini (born 20 September 2004) is a Brazilian swimmer. She competed in the 2020 Summer Olympics at age 16. In the 100m freestyle, she finished 6th at the 2024 World Championships in Doha, and obtained a silver at the 2023 Pan American Games. She is the daughter of Natalie, a British descendant who was born in Brazil, and Bruno. They both enrolled her in an English language school as a child, so the first language she learned was English, not Portuguese, which she later mastered. She began her career at Paineiras do Morumby club as a child. Her first international experience came in 2019, with the South American Youth Championship. Felipe Ferreira Lima (born 5 April 1985) is a Brazilian swimmer. He has six medals in World Championships: two in long course, and four in short course, highlighting his bronze medal in the 100 metre breaststroke at the 2013 World Championships. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed in the men's 100 metre breaststroke, finishing in 8th place in his semi-final and failing to reach the final. Giovanna Tomanik Diamante (born June 26, 1997 in São Paulo) is a Brazilian swimmer. At the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics in Nanjing, she won a silver medal in the Mixed 4 × 100m freestyle relay. She also finished 4th in the Mixed 4 × 100 metre medley relay; 5th in the Girls' 4 × 100 metre freestyle relay; 8th in the Girls' 50 metre butterfly; 10th in the Girls' 100 metre butterfly; 15th in the Girls' 200 metre butterfly; and 20th in the Girls' 200 metre freestyle.
