Guido Martina
Guido Martina (9 February 1906 – 6 May 1991) was an Italian comic writer, documentarist and author. Martina is well known for his Disney comics stories, including the first of the "" story "L'inferno di Topolino", and the creation of Paperinik, Donald Duck's superhero alter ego. Life and career Born in Carmagnola, at 16 years old Martina moved with his family to Turin, where he graduated in literature and philosophy because of the insistence of his father, while he would have preferred to study engineering.Alberto Gedda (11 May 1991). Carmagnola
Carmagnola (; pms, Carmagnòla ) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Turin in the Italian region Piedmont, located south of Turin. The town is on the right side of the Po river. The nature of the soil determined over time how the river's sand accumulated. Il Vittorioso
''Il Vittorioso'' (Italian for "The Victorious") was a weekly comic magazine published in Italy from 1937 to 1966. History and profile The magazine was born on the initiative of the Azione Cattolica association as a catholic response to the secular comics, with the aim of offering to their young audience comics that had positive moral values and which were respectful of Catholic doctrine. Enrico Basari’s comic format of ''Beowulf'' was published in the magazine in 1941. It was the first comic format of the work. ''Il Vittorioso'' had a good commercial success, with an average circulation of about 200,000 copies per week, even thanks to its distribution channel which included parishes and catholic educational entities. The magazine included only works by Italian cartoonists, and it launched the career of several of them, notably Benito Jacovitti. Photo comics are a form of Sequential art, sequential storytelling that uses photographs rather than illustrations for the images, along with the usual comics conventions of narrative text and word balloons containing dialogue. They are sometimes referred to in English as fumetti, photonovels, photoromances, and similar terms. The photographs may be of real people in staged scenes, or posed dolls and other toys on sets. Although far less common than illustrated comics, photo comics have filled certain niches in various places and times. For example, they have been used to adapt popular film and television works into print, tell original melodramas, and provide medical education. Photo comics have been popular at times in Italy and Latin America, and to a lesser extent in English-speaking countries. Tiramolla is an Italian comic book character created in 1952 by Roberto Renzi and Giorgio Rebuffi. Tiramolla (English language, English: Stretch-Spring) is a bizarre Superhero that resembles a stick figure with extensible slender body, oval face, long legs, a cylindrical head and a bow. Tiramolla has acquired the unique ability of being able to stretch as he wishes, even for several kilometers, after falling into a large container of rubber. He appeared for the first time in August 1952 as a supporting character in the comic series ''Cucciolo e Beppe'', in the magazine ''Cucciolo'', in the story "Il mistero della villa" (trad. Cucciolo is the title character of an Italian long-lasting comic book series.
