Guerrilla (2011 Film)
''Guerrilla'' ( bn, গেরিলা) is a 2011 Bangladeshi film based on the events of the Bangladesh Liberation War. It is an adaptation of the novel ''Nishiddho Loban'' by Syed Shamsul Huq and was released on 14 April 2011. It has been envisioned by the director of the film Nasiruddin Yousuf Bachchu. He has crafted the film ''Guerrilla'' with his own experience as a freedom fighter of 1971. Plot On the ominous night of 25 March 1971, a heinous military operation, the Operation Searchlight an operation designed to kill indiscriminately the innocent democracy loving millions, was initiated by the Pakistan Army. The hated operation was just the beginning of the worst genocide to follow, a brutal crime against humanity after the Second World War. Nasiruddin Yousuff
Nasiruddin Yousuff is a Bangladeshi stage and film director. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Director for the film '' Guerrilla'' (2011). He was awarded Ekushey Padak by the Government of Bangladesh in 2010 for his contribution to Bangladeshi theater. He was a freedom fighter, an urban guerrilla who fought for independence of Bangladesh. Career Yousuff, along with Selim Al Deen, founded "Dhaka Theatre" in 1973 and later "Bangladesh Gram Theatre". Muhammad Masum Aziz (1952 – 17 October 2022) was a Bangladeshi stage, film and television actor. He played in more than four hundred dramas and films since 1985. Shafi Imam Rumi
Shafi Imam Rumi (29 March 1951 – 30 September 1971) was a guerilla fighter of the Bangladesh Liberation War. He was the eldest son of Jahanara Imam. In her memoir about the war, ''Ekatorer Dinguli'', Rumi was portrayed as the premier character. Rumi was murdered by the Pakistani Army Early life Rumi was born on 29 March 1951 in the higher middle-class family of Jahanara and Sharif Imam.
