Azad Abul Kalam
Azad Abul Kalam (born 26 October 1966) is a Bangladeshi actor, director, writer and activist. He is one of the founders of Prachyanat and Prachyanat School of Acting and Design. He won Meril Prothom Alo Award for Best Playwright (Critics Choice) in 2012, for his television adaptation of Muhammed Zafar Iqbal’s novel, "Sabuj Velvet". Career Kalam was associated with the theater group ''Aranyak'' since October 1985. His debut stage acting was the in play ''Nanoker Pala'', directed by Abdullah Hel Mahmud. He founded a theater group '' Prachyanat'' in 1997. Kalam acted in television drama plays. The 15th Meril Prothom Alo Awards ceremony, presented by Prothom Alo took place on 26 April 2013, at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in Dhaka, Bangladesh as a part of the 2012–13 film awards season. Facts and figures This was 15th instalment of Meril Prothom Alo Awards. ''Ghetuputra Komola'' got the best film awards along with 4 other awards of Critics Choice best director, best film actor, best film actress, and a special award. This was the last directed film of popular novelist Humayun Ahmed. He was awarded as the best film director for this film. Meher Afroz Shaon
Meher Afroz Shaon (born 12 October 1981) is a Bangladeshi actress, director and playback singer. She won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer for her performance in the film ''Krishnopokkho'' (2016). She was the wife of writer and director Humayun Ahmed. Early life Shaon was born to Mohammad Ali, an engineer; and Tahura Ali, who was a member of parliament from Constituency 319 of the 9th Bangladesh Parliament. Shaon studied at Viqarunnisa Noon School and College. She obtained a Secondary School Certificate and a Higher Secondary Certificate in 1996 and 1998, respectively. She then enrolled at the University of Asia Pacific and received a Bachelor of Architecture degree in 2008.
