Guernsey Rangers F.A.C
Guernsey Rangers F.A.C is a football club formed in 1893 and based in Guernsey, Channel Islands. They currently play in the FNB Priaulx League. Guernsey Rangers are the oldest club in the Channel Islands and are a founder member of the Guernsey Football Association. The club traditionally plays in red and black and the club currently plays its home games at St Andrew, Guernsey. At the start of the 2017/18 league season they will be playing their home games on the 3G Astro pitch at KG5. Saint Andrew, Guernsey
Saint Andrew (Guernésiais: Saint Andri; french: Saint-André-de-la-Pommeraye) is located in the centre of Guernsey and as such is the only parish on the island to be landlocked. As it is customary to list the parishes round the coast, either clockwise or anti-clockwise, starting with St Peter Port, St Andrew is usually the last parish to be mentioned in such a list. This gave rise to the traditional nickname in Dgèrnésiais of the inhabitants of the parish: ''les croinchaons'' (the siftings, what is left behind in the sieve). General Saint Andrew is located in the centre of the island and features hills and valleys. It is split into two parts, one bordering St Peter Port and one bordering St Saviour and the Forest. Priaulx League
The Priaulx League is the senior football league on the island of Guernsey, and is run by the Guernsey Football League Management LBG, (prior to 2016 the Guernsey Football Association). Although the league is affiliated with the English FA, it does not form a part of the English football league system. The winners of the Priaulx League go on to play the champions of the Jersey Combination for the Upton Park Trophy. History The competition was first held in 1893; it is named in honour of O. Priaulx of Bury St. Edmunds, who donated £5 to purchase a trophy. The Guernsey Football Association, also simply known as the Guernsey FA or the GFA, is the body that co-ordinates and organises the sport of football in Guernsey. Although, as a Crown Dependency, Guernsey is not a part of the United Kingdom, the local FA is affiliated with the English FA, and acts as a county football association. Organisation The organisation runs the Guernsey national football team (which competes in the Muratti Vase and the Island Games), the Guernsey league representative XI (which competes in the FA National League System Cup) and the Priaulx League, the main league competition on the island.
