The Guatemala–Honduras adjacency line is a disputed international boundary separating Guatemala on the north and west from Honduras on the south and east. Honduras, officially the Republic of Honduras, is a country in Central America. The Guatemala–Mexico border is the international border between Guatemala and Mexico. The border measures and runs between north and west Guatemala (the Guatemalan departments of San Marcos, Huehuetenango, El Quiché and El Petén) and the Mexican states of Campeche, Tabasco and Chiapas. Honduras–Nicaragua Border
The Honduras–Nicaragua border is the roughly international boundary between Honduras and Nicaragua, running from the Gulf of Fonseca on the Pacific Ocean to the Caribbean Sea. The Coco River, which flows generally northeast to the Caribbean, forms more than half of the border. El Salvador–Honduras Border
The El Salvador–Honduras border is a continuous line of 256 km long, separating the east and the north of El Salvador from the territory of Honduras. There are two excerpts: * South–north direction, running from the coast of Pacific Ocean, Gulf of Fonseca, going to the beginning of the east–west stretch. * East–west direction, leaving the north–south stretch, going to the triple border El Salvador - Honduras - Guatemala. The border runs alongside the Salvadoran departments of Chalatenango, Cabañas, San Miguel, Morazán, La Union and the Honduran departments of Valle, La Paz, Intibucá, Lempira and Ocotepeque. Motagua River
The Motagua River () is a river in Guatemala. It rises in the western highlands of Guatemala where it is also called Río Grande, and runs in an easterly direction to the Gulf of Honduras. The final few kilometres of the river form part of the Guatemala–Honduras border. The Motagua River basin covers an area of and is the largest in Guatemala. The Motagua River is believed to be the number one most plastic-emitting river in the world, contributing around two per cent of global plastic pollution emissions into the world's oceans annually. The Gulf or Bay of Honduras is a large inlet of the Caribbean Sea, indenting the coasts of Belize, Guatemala, and Honduras. From north to south, it runs for approximately 200 km (125 miles) from Dangriga, Belize, to La Ceiba, Honduras. The inner Gulf of Honduras is lined by the Belize Barrier Reef which forms the southern part of the 900 km (600 mile) long Mesoamerican Barrier Reef System, the second-largest coral reef system in the world. The Trifinio Fraternidad Transboundary Biosphere Reserve is a transboundary protected area located where the borders of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras meet (thus the prefix ''tri'' in its name). It protects the Montecristo massif and its cloud forests across the three countries' borders.
