Guangzhou–Kowloon Through Train
The Guangzhou–Kowloon through train () is an inter-city railway service between Hong Kong and Guangzhou jointly operated by the MTR Corporation of Hong Kong and the Guangzhou Railway Group of mainland China. Services operate along the East Rail line within Hong Kong territory, crossing the Hong Kong–Chinese border at Lo Wu, and continuing along the Guangmao Railway and Guangshen Railway in Guangdong province. Until the suspension of service in early 2020 amidst the coronavirus pandemic twelve trains ran in each direction every day, with a journey time of 1 hour 40 minutes. The MTRC operates the KTT service on this route. The KTT service is provided by double-decker trains, usually comprising two Premium Class carriages and five First Class carriages. MTR KTT
KTT ( zh, t=九廣通, s=九广通, order=ts) is a train set used by the MTR Corporation Limited in Hong Kong on the Guangdong Through Train route. The double-deck "KTT" trailers have lower bottom floor than the ordinary cars serving on the same pair of tracks. Route KTT is used on the Guangdong line ( Hung Hom (Kowloon), Hong Kong - Changping - Guangzhou East) of the through train service. Lo Wu or Lowu is an area in North District, New Territories, Hong Kong. It lies on the border between Hong Kong and mainland China, specifically the Luohu District of Shenzhen in mainland China. The area is most notable as the location of the most heavily used immigration control point for passengers travelling to and from mainland China. It is where the Lo Wu station is located. Sham Chun River
The Sham Chun River, Shum Chum River, or Shenzhen River () serves as the natural border between Hong Kong and Mainland China, together with the Sha Tau Kok River, Mirs Bay and Deep Bay. It formed part of the limit of the lease of the New Territories in 1898 in the Convention for the Extension of Hong Kong Territory (known also as the Second Convention of Peking). It separates Yuen Long District, North District of Hong Kong, and the city of Shenzhen, Guangdong. Its source is at Wutong Mountain, Shenzhen. East Rail Line
The East Rail line () is one of ten lines of the Mass Transit Railway (MTR) system in Hong Kong. It used to be one of the three lines of the Kowloon–Canton Railway (KCR) network. It was known as the KCR British Section () from 1910 to 1996, and the KCR East Rail () from 1996 to 2007. East Rail was the only railway line of the Kowloon-Canton Railway Corporation (KCRC) following the closure of the Sha Tau Kok Railway and before the construction of ''KCR West Rail'' (later renamed West Rail line, now part of the Tuen Ma line).
