Guangzhou Railway Museum
Guangzhou Railway Museum () is a railway museum in Liwan District, Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, China. History The museum is situated on the site of a former railway station, Huangsha, which opened in July 1907. On 18 December 1946, passenger services stopped using the station and it was renamed Guangzhou South. It closed completely on 10 June 2005. The museum opened on 18 May 2022, International Museum Day. Liwan District
Liwan District is one of 11 urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong Province, China. The district is split into two parts by the Pearl River: Xiguan in the northeast and Fangcun in the southwest. History Liwan District was named after "Lizhiwan", which is derived from poem of "a bay of green water and red lychees along both banks". International Museum Day (IMD) is an international day held annually on or around 18 May, coordinated by the International Council of Museums (ICOM). The event highlights a specific theme which changes every year reflecting a relevant theme or issue facing museums internationally. The DF4 (Chinese: 东风4) is a type of diesel-electric locomotive used in the People's Republic of China. It has been in production since 1969 and is still produced as of 2007 by several local companies. It is the most common locomotive in China and is used for both passenger and freight services. Each set consists of a power car unit and 6 passenger units, seating 421 passengers. All 8 trains were owned by , and were leased to Guangshen Railway.
