Guan Guangfu
Guan Guangfu (; December 1931 – 16 April 2016) was a Chinese politician of Manchu ethnicity. He served as Communist Party Secretary of Hubei province from 1983 to 1994. Biography Guan was born in December 1931 in Muling, Heilongjiang Province in northeast China. He was a Manchu. He joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in July 1948. From 1947 to 1949 Guan worked as an accountant in Muling. In 1949, he was transferred to Hubei Province in central China, working in the provincial finance department. In 1964 he acquired a degree in finance from Hubei University through correspondence learning. In 1973 he became Vice President of the Hubei Branch of the People's Bank of China, and was promoted to President in 1978. In January 1983, Guan became Communist Party Secretary (Party Chief) of Hubei, and held that position until December 1994. Guo Shuyan
Guo Shuyan (; October 1935 – 23 January 2022) was a Chinese engineer and politician. He served as Governor of Hubei Province from 1990 to 1993. He also served as the deputy director of the State Science and Technology Commission from 1985 to 1990 and deputy director of the Three Gorges Project Construction Committee from 1993 to 2003. Early life and education Guo Shuyan was born in October 1935 in Zhenping County, Henan, Republic of China. He attended Nankai University in 1952, before going to the Soviet Union to study at the Ural Polytechnic Institute, where he earned a degree in metallurgy in 1959. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1957. The Manchus (; ) are a Tungusic East Asian ethnic group native to Manchuria in Northeast Asia. They are an officially recognized ethnic minority in China and the people from whom Manchuria derives its name. The Later Jin (1616–1636) and Qing (1636–1912) dynasties of China were established and ruled by the Manchus, who are descended from the Jurchen people who earlier established the Jin dynasty (1115–1234) in northern China. Shennongjia
Shennongjia Forestry District () is a county-level administrative unit (a "forestry district") in northwestern Hubei province, People's Republic of China, directly subordinated to the provincial government. It occupies in western Hubei, and, as of 2007 had the resident population estimated at 74,000 (with the ''registered'' population of 79,976). On July 17, 2016, Hubei Shennongjia was listed as a World Heritage Site, the 50th World Heritage Site in China, because of its exceptional floral and faunal biodiversity and its protection of many rare, endangered, and endemic species. The population is predominantly (95%) Han Chinese, the remaining 5% being mostly Tujia.
