Guam Highway 3A
Guam Highway 3 (GH-3) is one of the primary automobile highways in the United States territory of Guam. Route description It runs in a south to north direction, from a junction with GH-1 near the Micronesia Mall in the southern community of Tamuning in a general northeasterly direction to the community of Dededo, where it meets GH-3A and GH-9. In between, it passes Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Guam and the newly-established Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz. Major intersections Suffixed route Guam Highway 3A (GH-3A) connects GH-3 and GH-9 to Ritidian Point at the northern tip of the island of Guam in Dededo. It is undergoing expansion to accommodate increased activity from the activation of Camp Blaz. Dededo ( ch, Dedidu; formerly in Spanish: , in Japanese: , ''Dededo'') is the most populated village in the United States territory of Guam. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Dededo's population was just under 45,000 in 2020. The village is located on the coral plateau of Northern Guam. The greater Dededo-Machanao-Apotgan Urban Cluster had a population of 139,825 as of the 2010 census, making up 87.7% of Guam's population and 29.8% of its area. Etymology The origin of the village name Dededo, Dedidu in Chamorro, may come from the practice of measuring using fingers. The Spanish word for finger is dedo. Guam Highway 1
Guam Highway 1 (GH-1), also known as Marine Corps Drive, is one of the primary automobile routes in the United States territory of Guam. It runs in a southwest-to-northeast direction, from the main gate of Naval Base Guam in the southwestern village of Santa Rita in a northeasterly direction to the main gate of Andersen Air Force Base in the village of Yigo. It passes through Guam's capital, Hagåtña, as well as intersecting other territorial highways. The highway runs through tropical forest, urbanized commercial areas, and residential neighborhoods. Micronesia Mall (Japanese: ミクロネシアモール) (Korean: 미크로네시아 몰) (Spanish: ) (Russian: Микронезия Молл), in Dededo at the intersection of Guam highways 1 and 16, is the largest shopping center in the United States territory of Guam. The Micronesia Mall is a shopping mall with over 100 stores and restaurants. The four anchor stores are Ross Dress for Less, two Macy's stores, which are the only Macy's west of Hawaii, and a 24-hour Payless Supermarket. Guam Highway 9
Guam Highway 9 (GH-9) is one of the primary automobile highways in the United States territory of Guam. Route description This northern route is a relatively short connector between GH-3 (and its spur route GH-3A) and GH-1, skirting the southern reaches of Andersen Air Force Base. At the western terminus, traffic defaults onto GH-3 heading south back towards Dededo through the Finegayan area while at the eastern terminus, at the main entrance to Andersen AFB, traffic defaults onto GH-1 heading south back into Yigo proper. Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Guam (NCTS Guam) is a United States Navy communications facility on the U.S. territory of Guam. It is located on the Naval Base Guam North Finegayan Telecommunications Site along Guam Highway 3 in Dededo, on the northwest coast of the island. NCTS Guam is under the United States Tenth Fleet's Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Pacific (NCTAMS PAC) and under the installation management authority of Joint Region Marianas. Marine Corps Base Camp Blaz
Marine Corps Base (MCB) Camp Blaz is a U.S. Marine Corps facility located in the village of Dededo in northwest Guam. MCB Camp Blaz was activated on October 1, 2020, becoming the first new Marine Corps facility since the predecessor of Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany was commissioned on March 1, 1952. The base will house Marines relocated from installations in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan, with the final relocation planned for 2025.
