Großrosseln (; french: Grande-Rosselle) is a village and a municipality in the district of Saarbrücken, in Saarland, Germany. It is situated on the border with France, approximately 12 km west of Saarbrücken. The neighbouring municipality in France is Petite-Rosselle. Geography The Gemeinde (municipality) of Großrosseln is divided into 6 Gemeindebezirke (municipal districts): the main one Großrosseln, is where the Rathaus (town hall), Dorf im Warndt, Emmersweiler, Karlsbrunn, Naßweiler and the church of Sankt Nikolaus are found. Naßweiler
Naßweiler (Nassweiler) is an Ortsteil of the German municipality of Großrosseln in the Saarland, directly on the German-French border. Geography Naßweiler is located south-east of the Warndt forest. On the French side, Merlebach, Rosbruck and Cocheren abut on Naßweiler. History Naßweiler was founded in the year 1608. After 1974 Naßweiler ceased to be a separate municipality, but a part of Großrosseln. There is an existing partnership with Rosbruck since 1992, which is also marked with a monument. Karlsbrunn
Karlsbrunn is a German village that is part of the municipality of Großrosseln. It is situated in the district of Saarbrücken, which is part of the federal state of Saarland. Its population is about 1,000 inhabitants. Geography The village lies in the urban area of Saarbrücken, 5 km south of Großrosseln and close to the frontier with France (near the department of Moselle in Lorraine). Petite-Rosselle
Petite-Rosselle (; ; Palatine German: ''Klänrossle'') is a commune in the Moselle department of the Grand Est region in north-eastern France. The commune is separated from neighbouring Großrosseln to its west by the small river Rossel, which forms the border between France and Germany. It has 6,322 inhabitants (2018). History From the year's 843 signing of the Treaty of Verdun, the location of the present commune fell within the territory of Middle Francia. Between 925–1542, it was part of the Duchy of Lorraine, within the Holy Roman Empire. From 1542-1766 it was in the independent Duchy of Lorraine. Between 1766-1871 it was incorporated into France. Periodic wars between France and Germany led to the establishment of the frontier along the river Moselle. Manuel Zeitz
Manuel Zeitz (born 1 August 1990) is a German professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for 1. FC Saarbrücken. Club career Zeitz was born in Völklingen. He joined 1. FC Saarbrücken in 2004, having previously played for SC Großrosseln, and made his debut for the club in the Oberliga Südwest during the 2008–09 season. Saarbrücken won the league this year, and promotion to the Regionalliga West, and Zeitz established himself as a key player, scoring 11 goals in 32 matches as the club won the title, and a second consecutive promotion. Hendrick Zuck (born 21 July 1990) is a German professional footballer who plays as a left winger for 1. FC Kaiserslautern. Club career Early career Zuck began his career at SC Großrosseln in 1992, where he was managed by his father. In 2004, he moved to Borussia Neunkirchen in the Oberliga Südwest, where he played for the youth team, before being promoted to the senior team. The Regionalverband Saarbrücken is a ''Kommunalverband besonderer Art'', an integration of a district (''Kreis'') and a district-free town. It is located in the south of the Saarland, Germany. Morsbach is a municipality in Oberbergischer Kreis, a district in North Rhine-Westphalia near the border of Rhineland-Palatinate in Germany. In 2015, Morsbach's population was 10,600.
