Griva
Griva (Serbian Cyrillic: Грива; trans. '' Mane'') was a Serbian and former Yugoslav hard rock band from Novi Sad. Band history 1982—1992 The band was formed in 1982 by former Ibn Tup members, Zlatko Karavla (drums) and Josip Sabo (guitar). The first lineup also featured Zoran Gogić (also a former Ibn Tup member, vocals), Laslo Novak (keyboards), and Đorđe Jovanović (bass guitar). Soon after the band was formed, Gogić left the band, so Karavla switched to vocals, and Janoš Kazimić became the band's new drummer. The band, under the name Bela Griva (''White Mane''), had their first live performance as the opening act on a Buldožer concert in Novi Sad. Soon after, Griva, as a support act, went on tour with Divlje Jagode. The band's first commercial success was their debut single, a heavy metal cover of Lepa Brena's song "Sitnije, Cile, sitnije" (Griva's version entitled "Sitnije, sestro, sitnije"), released in 1983. ''Kog sam đavola tražio u tebi'' (trans. ''What the Hell I Saw in You'') is the first studio album by Serbian and former Yugoslav hard rock band Griva, released in 1983. The album features Griva's debut single, a heavy metal cover of Lepa Brena's song "Sitnije, Cile, sitnije", Griva version entitled "Sitnije, sestro, sitnije". Amajlija (Serbian Cyrillic: Амајлија; transl. ''Amulet'') is a Serbian and Yugoslav rock band formed in Novi Sad in 1979. Led by vocalist and guitarist Bogoljub "Čombe" Banjac, Amajlija reached the peak of popularity in the late 1980s and early 1990s with their melodic hard rock sound. Luna (Serbian Band)
Luna ( sr-cyr, Луна; trans. ''The Moon'') was a Serbian and former Yugoslav post-punk/gothic rock band from Novi Sad. Formed on the ashes of the new wave band La Strada and getting the name by the Bernardo Bertolucci film '' La Luna'', Luna quickly gained the public's attention and established a cult status. Owing to Marko Brecelj, a former Buldožer member, who had approached them after a performance in Rijeka, Zoran Bulatović "Bale" (guitar), Slobodan Tišma (vocals), Ivan Fece "Firchie" (drums) and Jasmina Mitrušić "Mina" (keyboards, vocals) got the opportunity to release their debut album. One Records is a record label based in Belgrade, Serbia. Jugodisk was a record label was established in 1968, in the then Socialist Republic of Serbia in SFR Yugoslavia in Belgrade, today Serbia. Before 1981, it was known as Beograd Disk. In 2003, the company was sold at a state auction to the show business manager Nenad Kapor and since then it operates as Jugodisk A.D. ( joint stock company). Buldožer
Buldožer (meaning "bulldozer"), was a Yugoslav-Slovenian progressive rock band from the 1970s and 1980s. They were one of the first bands in communist Yugoslavia that could be considered Avant-prog, and forefathers of the Yugoslav new wave. In musical sense, they experimented with a variety of genres, while most of their lyrics, written in Serbo-Croatian, were a satire and mockery of the political and musical establishment, themselves included. Their appearance on the Yugoslav musical scene in the early 1970s was "equal to the appearance of flying saucers with Martians". They jumped into the musical scene, which was attempting to keep up with the global trend of symphonic rock, creatively self-confident and implementing fresh ideas. Galija
Galija ( sr-cyr, Галија; ) is a Serbian and Yugoslav rock band formed in Niš in 1977. The central figures of the band are brothers Nenad Milosavljević (vocals, acoustic guitar and harmonica) and Predrag Milosavljević (vocals). A large numbrer of musicians passed through the band, with Milosavljević brothers and drummer Boban Pavlović being the only mainstay members. The band's first several releases were progressive rock-oriented, bringing them a loyal fanbase, but in the mid-1980s the band moved towards more mainstream-oriented sound. In the mid-1980s, the band was joined by guitarist Jean Jacques Roskam and multi-instrumentalist Bratislav "Bata" Zlatković.
