Grigorescu, Cluj-Napoca
Grigorescu (previously called ''Donath'') is a district in the west of Cluj-Napoca in Romania. The district was named after World War I General Eremia Grigorescu in the 1960s. The previous name, Donath, remains associated with the district due to Strada Donath (Donath Street) a main street running through the district. Public transport Grigorescu is served by nine of the main CTP bus lines. The 26, 26L, 27, 28, 28B, 30, 41 and 44 run down Octavian Goga and Alexander Vlahuţă-Fântânele towards the city centre. The 43 runs out of the city towards the supermarket Cora and Polus Centre Shopping Mall just outside Grigorescu (also the 28B continues on this route). A separate bus run by the supermarket Cora also runs from Cora through Grigorescu to the city centre. Buildings The west of the Grigorescu district consists mostly of apartment blocks built in the communist era, with more traditional houses to the west. Eremia Grigorescu
Eremia Teofil Grigorescu (28 November 1863 – 21 July 1919) was a Romanian artillery general during World War I, and Minister of War in the Constantin Coandă cabinet (October–November 1918). Early life Born in 1863 in the village Golășei (Bujor Sat) near Târgu Bujor, in Covurlui County, now Galați County, he studied at the Vasile Alecsandri High School in Galați from 1870 to 1878, and then to the Costache Negruzzi National College in Iași from 1878 to 1881. He then attended for a year the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Iași, before transferring to the Military School for Infantry and Cavalry in Bucharest. After graduating in 1884 with the rank of second lieutenant, Grigorescu pursued his studies in France, taking mathematics courses at the Sorbonne. He also attended special artillery and administration courses at the Military School of Saint-Cyr and at the French Ministry of War. Televiziunea Română (), more commonly referred to as TVR , is the short name for Societatea Română de Televiziune ("Romanian Television Society"; SRTV), the Romanian public television. It operates six channels: TVR1, TVR2, TVR3, TVR Info, TVR Cultural, TVRi, and TVR Moldova along with six regional studios in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Iași, Timișoara, Craiova and Târgu Mureș.
