Grenada At The Pan American Games
Grenada has competed at every edition of the Pan American Games since the 1987 Pan American Games, tenth edition of the multi-sport event in 1987. Sprinter Hazel-Ann Regis won the country's first Pan Am medal in 2003, a silver in the women's 400 metres. To date, all four of Grenada's medals have been won in the sport of track and field. Grenada did not compete at the first and only Pan American Winter Games in 1990. The country won its first ever gold medal at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, with Anderson Peters winning gold in the Athletics at the 2019 Pan American Games – Men's javelin throw, javelin throw event. Grenada At The 2023 Pan American Games
Grenada is scheduled to compete at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile from October 20 to November 5, 2023. This was Grenada's tenth appearance at the Pan American Games, having competed at every Games since 1987. A team of seven athletes competing in three sports represented Grenada. Swimmers Zackary Gresham and Tilly Collymore were the country's flagbearers during the opening ceremony. Meanwhile two female delegation members, Denise Williams (chef de mission) and Amanda John (press attache) were the country's flagbearers during the closing ceremony. Grenada At The 2019 Pan American Games
Grenada competed at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru from July 26 to August 11, 2019. On July 16, 2019 the Grenada Olympic Committee announced a team of 11 athletes (seven men and four women) in three sports (athletics, swimming and tennis). The team will also consist of seven officials. During the opening ceremony of the games, javelin thrower Anderson Peters carried the flag of the country as part of the parade of nations. Peters would later go on to win the country's first ever Pan American Games gold medal. Grenada competed at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Ontario, Canada from July 10 to 26, 2015. On July 2, 2015 the Grenada Olympic Committee announced a team of 7 athletes in 3 sports (athletics, swimming and tennis). Swimmer Oreoluwa Cherebin was the flagbearer for the team during the opening ceremony. 2011 Pan American Games
The 2011 Pan American Games, officially the XVI Pan American Games, was an international multi-sport event that was held from October 14–30, 2011, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Some events were held in the nearby cities of Ciudad Guzmán, Puerto Vallarta, Lagos de Moreno and Tapalpa. It was the largest multi-sport event of 2011, with approximately 6,000 athletes from 42 nations participating in 36 sports. The 2007 Pan American Games, officially known as the XV Pan American Games, were a major continental multi-sport event that took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from July 13 to 29, 2007. A total of 5,633 athletes from 42 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) competed in 332 events in 34 sports and in 47 disciplines. 2003 Pan American Games
The 2003 Pan American Games were held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from August 1 to 17, 2003. The successful bid for the games was made in the mid-1990s, when Dominican Republic had one of the highest growth rates in Latin America. All 42 PASO countries and over 5,223 athletes pre-registered for the participation in the XIV Pan American Games. An additional 2,425 trainers and delegates attended. The United States pre-registered the most athletes (713) and Saint Lucia entered the least (6). The host country entered 562 athletes.
