Gregório River (Amazonas)
The Gregório River ( pt, Rio Gregório is a river of Amazonas and Acre states in western Brazil. It is a tributary of Juruá River. Course The Gregório River runs in a northeast direction through the Brazilian states of Acre and Amazonas. It has a length total of 350 km. In Acre between the BR-364 highway and the Amazonas border the river forms the boundary between the Rio Gregório State Forest to the east and the Mogno State Forest to the west, two sustainable use conservation units created in 2004. Across the border in Amazonas the river runs through the Rio Gregório Extractive Reserve, which protects 80% of the sources of the river. Acre (state)
Acre () is a state located in the west of the North Region of Brazil and the Amazonia Legal. Located in the westernmost part of the country, at a two-hour time difference from Brasília, Acre is bordered clockwise by the Brazilian states of Amazonas and Rondônia to the north and east, the Bolivian department of Pando to the southeast, and the Peruvian regions of Madre de Dios, Ucayali and Loreto to the south and west. Eirunepé
Eirunepé is a Brazilian municipality in the southwest part of the state of Amazonas, about 1,150 kilometers a straight line from Manaus and 2,417 kilometers by river, one of the cities furthest from its state capital. It is thought to have ecotourism potential. It is the fourth largest city in the Southwest region. The municipality contains 41.22% of the Rio Gregório Extractive Reserve. Juruá River
The Juruá River (Portuguese ''Rio Juruá''; Spanish ''Río Yuruá'') is a southern affluent river of the Amazon River west of the Purus River, sharing with this the bottom of the immense inland Amazon depression, and having all the characteristics of the Purus as regards curvature, sluggishness and general features of the low, half-flooded forest country it traverses. For most of its length the river flows through the Purus várzea ecoregion. This is surrounded by the Juruá-Purus moist forests ecoregion. BR-364
BR-364 is an inter-state highway in Brazil connecting the southeast state of São Paulo to the western state of Acre. The highway was opened in the 1960s and paved in the 1980s. It has brought economic development and population growth in the Amazon basin states of Rondônia and Acre. It has also caused massive environmental damage and socio-economic impacts. The road is extremely important for the flow of agricultural and livestock production in the states of Rondônia, Mato Grosso and Goiás, for Brazilian domestic consumption and for export, mainly by Port of Santos.
