Gregorio Martínez Sierra
Gregorio Martínez Sierra (6 May 1881 – 1 October 1947) was a Spanish writer, poet, dramatist, and theatre director, a key figure in the revival of the Spanish theatrical avant-garde in the early twentieth century. Biography Firstborn son of Eduardo Martínez Cuesta and Emilia Sierra Muñoz, he had 5 sisters and 2 brothers. In 1900, he married the writer María de la O Lejárraga García. The deft handling of female characters in Martínez Sierra's works has been attributed to the collaboration of his wife. Since the publication of her memoir ''Gregorio y yo'' ('Gregorio and I', 1953), her authorship of many of his plays has been increasingly recognised by scholars. Work as a poet and playwright Martínez Sierra's literary career began at the age of 17 with the publication of ''El poema del trabajo'' ('The Poem of Work', 1898), a volume of poetry in the modernist style. Federico del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús García Lorca (5 June 1898 – 19 August 1936) was a Spanish poet, playwright, and theatre director. ''Honeymoon'' () is a 1959 film by the British director-writer Michael Powell based in part on the ballet ''El Amor Brujo'' by Manuel de Falla. The film stars Anthony Steel, Ludmilla Tchérina and Spanish ballet dancer Antonio, and features Léonide Massine. The film functions as a travelogue around Spain with dance interludes, mainly set to the repeated theme of "The Honeymoon Song" by Mikis Theodorakis. Performed in the film by Marino Marini and his quartet, it was subsequently recorded by many performers, including the Beatles. It is one of Powell's least regarded movies. Fernando de Fuentes Carrau (December 13, 1894 – July 4, 1958) was a Mexican film director, considered a pioneer in the film industry worldwide. He is perhaps best known for directing the films ''El prisionero trece'', ''El compadre Mendoza'', and ''Vámonos con Pancho Villa'', all part of his ''Revolution Trilogy'' on the Mexican Revolution. El Amor Brujo
''El amor brujo'' (, "Love, the sorcerer") is a ballet by Manuel de Falla. The libretto is by María de la O Lejárraga García, although for years it was attributed to her husband Gregorio Martínez Sierra. It exists in three versions as well as a piano suite drawn from four of its movements. Andalusian in character, its music includes the celebrated '' Danza ritual del fuego (Ritual Fire Dance)'', the ''Canción del fuego fatuo (Song of the Will-o'-the-Wisp)'' and the ''Danza del terror''. Its songs are in Andalusian Spanish. Antonio Román
Antonio Román (9 November 1911 – 16 June 1989) was a prolific Spain, Spanish film director, screenwriter, film producer. Antonio Román was born Ourense, Spain on 9 November 1911. Román began directing films in the later 1930s starting with documentaries. His first dramatic feature film was ''Esquadrilla''. His other work includes an adaptation of ''Lola Montes (1944 film), Lola Montes'' and ''La Fierecilla domada'', a retelling of ''The Taming of the Shrew''. Many of these films star his wife, actress Yvonne Bastien. Román has won several international awards such as Golden Olive Tree from the Cine de Humor de Bordighera in Italy for ''Bombas para la paz'' and an award for ''Pacto de silencio'' from the Cork Festival in Ireland. is a 1941 Argentine film of the Golden Age of Argentine cinema, based on the famous 1911 play by Gregorio Martínez Sierra. It is about a group of nuns who find an abandoned baby girl at the doorstep of their convent and decide to bring her up. Louis King (June 28, 1898 – September 7, 1962) was an American actor and film director of westerns and adventure movies in the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s. Early years King was born in 1898 in Christiansburg, Virginia. His name was also written as L.H. King and Lewis King.
