Greenisland Football Club, commonly referred to as GFC or simply "Greenisland", is a Northern Irish, intermediate football club playing in Division 1B of the Northern Amateur Football League. The club is based in Greenisland, County Antrim, and was formed in 1995. The club plays in the Irish Cup in their locally-iconic maroon kits. Greenisland F.C.'s home ground, Glenkeen Avenue, is found in the housing estate Greenisland and is home to a number of facilities. The main pitch is a large floodlight state-of-the-art 3G Astro Pitch, with a 124-seater stand, with disability access. There are also two grass pitches; changing rooms; a smaller floodlight 3G training pitch; a modern and well-equipped clubhouse; Strength & Conditioning suite; and a "wellness portacabin" at Glenkeen Avenue. Greenisland is a town in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It lies 7 miles north-east of Belfast and 3 miles south-west of Carrickfergus. Dale Taylor (born 12 December 2003) is a Northern Irish professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Nottingham Forest and the Northern Ireland national team. Club career Taylor is a former youth academy player of Greenisland and Linfield. He joined English club Nottingham Forest in July 2020. Old Trafford () is a football stadium in Old Trafford, Greater Manchester, England, and the home of Manchester United. Steel & Sons Cup
The Steel & Sons Cup (also referred to as the Steel Cup) is an intermediate football competition in Northern Ireland run by the North East Ulster Football Association (also known as the County Antrim & District Football Association). The competition culminates in the final which has traditionally been played on 25 December (except when this date falls on a Sunday). The 2006 final, however, broke with tradition when it was staged on the Saturday before 25 December as this was a closed date for all other football fixtures in Northern Ireland. The final returned to its original Christmas Day slot in 2007-08. The 2012–13 tournament was declared null after Glentoran II were stripped of their title having fielded an ineligible player in an earlier round.
