Green Valley is a master planned community located in Henderson, Nevada, and Southern Nevada's first master-planned community built before Summerlin. The Green Valley Master Community development was founded in 1978 by American Nevada Corporation in an area of in the southeast part of the Las Vegas Valley. The District at Green Valley Ranch is a mixed-use development in Green Valley Ranch, a neighborhood in the city of Henderson, Nevada. It is located east of the Green Valley Ranch hotel-casino, and includes retail, restaurant, office, and residential space. The District, like the resort, was developed by American Nevada Corporation. The Southeast Career Technical Academy (SECTA or Southeast Tech) is a magnet public high school in Las Vegas, Nevada. Opened as the Southern Nevada Vocational Technical Center in 1966, it was the first public educational institution of its kind launched by the Clark County School District. The MacDonald Highlands are a series of affluent residential neighborhoods in Henderson, Nevada in the foothills of Black Mountain. The neighborhood is part of the Las Vegas Valley. The highlands are situated approximately 15 miles (25 km) from the Las Vegas Strip and 20 miles (32 km) from downtown Las Vegas.
