Industrial Rock
Industrial rock is a fusion genre that fuses industrial music and rock music. It initially originated in the 1970s, and drew influence from early experimental and industrial acts such as Cromagnon, Throbbing Gristle, Einstürzende Neubauten and Chrome. Industrial rock became more prominent in the 1980s with the success of artists such as Killing Joke, Swans, and partially Skinny Puppy, and later spawned the offshoot genre known as industrial metal. The genre was made more accessible to mainstream audiences in the 1990s with the aid of acts such as Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson, both of which have released platinum-selling records. History Origins (late 1970s and 1980s) Richie Unterberger assessed the Red Krayola as "a precursor to industrial rock" with their 1967 record ''The Parable of Arable Land'' exhibiting music made by 50 people on anything from industrial power tools to a revving motorcycle whilst ''Pitchfork'''s Alex Lindhart assessed their 1968 follow up ...

More & Faster
"More & Faster" is a KMFDM single released in 1989. The songs on this release also appeared on some European versions of '' UAIOE'', and alternate versions of "More & Faster" and "Rip the System" both appeared on ''UAIOE''. "More & Faster" later appeared on ''Virus'', and "Rip the System" and "Naff Off" later appeared on the rarities collection '' Agogo''. In 2008, KMFDM Records re-released this as a 7" vinyl single, limited to 250 copies. Reception Tom Popson of the ''Chicago Tribune'' said the song's vocals "actually exhibit some feeling-a bit of a novelty in a field where the singing often tends toward flat-toned, apocalyptic-doom stylings." Andy Hinds of Allmusic AllMusic (previously known as All Music Guide and AMG) is an American online music database. It catalogs more than three million album entries and 30 million tracks, as well as information on musicians and bands. Initiated in 1991, the databa ... called it "probably the first KMFDM classic". A Drug Against War
"A Drug Against War" is a song by industrial rock band KMFDM, taken from their 1993 album ''Angst''. It was released as a single prior to the album. A music video, featuring animated depictions of the band's previous album covers and singles, was made for the single, and was subsequently shown on the MTV cartoon ''Beavis and Butt-head'' on July 11, 1994. It was re-released as a 7" in 2009. On December 16, 2010, it was made available as a downloadable song for the game ''Rock Band''. In late 2011, the band released a new version of the song called "A Drug Against Wall Street", with lyrics in support of the Occupy Wall Street movement, and made it available for free download from their site. Song The song includes several militaristic samples. The primary one, in which someone calls for the bombing of enemy troops, comes from a live news broadcast about the Gulf War that Konietzko taped. The lyrics mix social criticism with regular reference to war, and the instruments simulate ...

Godlike (song)
"Godlike" is a song by industrial rock band KMFDM from their 1990 album ''Naïve''. Background According to KMFDM frontman Sascha Konietzko, the song made its debut during KMFDM's 1990 tour with industrial metal band Ministry, being based on the lyrics by Patti Smith. When Koneitzko's bandmate En Esch, who had been singing the song live, was injured during a fire, Konietzko had to use new lyrics, as he didn't know the original words. He translated a German spoken word piece the band had been using at their live shows into English, and used the translation as the new lyrics. After the tour, the band recorded a version for their album ''Naïve'' with a group of performers from other Wax Trax! Records bands. Later, Konietzko re-recorded a more electronic version for the single. The track heavily features a sampled guitar riff from " Angel of Death" by Californian thrash metal band Slayer. This sample is looped from the beginning of "Godlike" and is heard almost continuously throu ...

The album's first and eponymous single was featured in the game '' Saints Row: The Third''. Reception ''WWIII'' received mixed reviews. '' The News-Times'' called it a "butt-rock masterpiece". Anarchy (song)
The tenth studio album by German industrial band KMFDM, titled with a set of five unpronounceable, non-alphabetic symbols, 💥☠️💣🌀👊 (approximated using Emoji), and commonly known as ''Symbols'', was released on September 23, 1997 by Wax Trax! Records. Background Recorded in Seattle, Washington, ''Symbols'' marked the introduction of Tim Skold. While his contribution to this album was as a guest, he would become a full-fledged member for '' Adios'' and ''Attak''. Sascha Konietzko, the frontman of KMFDM, said the title had no special meaning, and was just an idea for a title the group had very early on, before a single album had been released. En Esch said the idea for the album title came from the symbols used for curses in comic books. The symbols appear in the printed lyrics of "Down and Out"; the corresponding point in the song is covered with a censor-like beep in the song, and is replaced with "(SYMBOLS)" on the official KMFDM lyrics archive.
