''Greatest Hits'' is the first greatest hits album from American country music singer Martina McBride, issued by RCA Nashville in 2001. In addition to chronicling the greatest hits of her career at the time, it includes four new songs, all of which were released as singles. The compilation reached number 1 on Top Country Albums and received a Quadruple-platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on December 12, 2018. Content McBride's greatest hits are presented in chronological order on the album, starting with "My Baby Loves Me" from 1992 and ending with "There You Are" from 2000. Besides these tracks, the disc includes "Strangers", a track cut from 1993's ''The Way That I Am'' which McBride included because it had been popular among fans despite not being released as a single. Martina Mariea McBride (née Schiff, born July 29, 1966) is an American country music singer-songwriter and record producer. She is known for her soprano singing range and her country pop material. McBride was born in Sharon, Kansas, and relocated to Nashville, Tennessee in 1989. She signed to RCA Records in 1991, and made her debut the following year as a neo-traditionalist country singer with the single, " The Time Has Come". "Safe in the Arms of Love" is a country music song written by Mary Ann Kennedy, Pam Rose and Pat Bunch in 1986. The song was originally recorded by the American country music band Wild Choir. It was issued on their self-titled debut album in 1986 and was also released as the project's lead single. The song failed to chart. A music video, directed by David Hogan, was shot for the band's version and was scheduled to be broadcast on MTV, but due to a program change, never aired. Harry Stinson is an American multi-instrumentalist, noted as a session drummer and vocalist in the Nashville music community. He is also a songwriter and producer. Biography Stinson grew up in Nashville, where he grew to love country music. He was in a high school band with Morris West, son of country star Dottie West. In 1970, Stinson first worked professionally in Dottie West's band the Heartaches, touring with Red Sovine and Don Gibson, and appearing on the Grand Ole Opry.
