"Safe in the Arms of Love" is a country music song written by Mary Ann Kennedy, Pam Rose and Pat Bunch in 1986. The song was originally recorded by the American country music band Wild Choir. It was issued on their self-titled debut album in 1986 and was also released as the project's lead single. The song failed to chart. A music video, directed by David Hogan, was shot for the band's version and was scheduled to be broadcast on MTV, but due to a program change, never aired. In 1994, two of the song's co-writers, Mary Ann Kennedy and Pam Rose who were performing as Kennedy Rose, recorded the song on their second album, ''Walk the Line''. Content In the song, the female narrator states that she is tired of being on her own, and that she wants a lover. Wild Choir
Wild Choir was an American country music band. It consisted of Gail Davies (lead vocals), Larry Chaney (guitar), Pete Pendras (guitar), Denny Dadmun-Bixby (bass guitar), and Bob Mummert (drums). Davies thought of the idea upon returning from a trip to London, England in 1985. Upon speaking with RCA executive Joe Galante, the band signed a recording contract with RCA Nashville. Along with a self-titled studio album, the band released three singles in 1986. Although the last single, "Safe in the Arms of Love", did not chart, it would later become a major hit for both Michelle Wright and Martina McBride in 1995 respectively. Two singles from the album followed, the highest-charting being "Heart to Heart", which reached number forty on the '' Billboard'' Hot Country Singles chart. Martina McBride
Martina Mariea McBride (née Schiff, born July 29, 1966) is an American country music singer-songwriter and record producer. She is known for her soprano singing range and her country pop material. McBride was born in Sharon, Kansas, and relocated to Nashville, Tennessee in 1989. She signed to RCA Records in 1991, and made her debut the following year as a neo-traditionalist country singer with the single, " The Time Has Come". Over time, she developed a pop-styled crossover sound, similar to Shania Twain and Faith Hill, and had a string of major hit singles on the ''Billboard'' country chart and occasionally on the adult contemporary chart. Lisa Stanley (born 12 March 1973) is an Irish singer, songwriter, and presenter, based in the UK and Ireland. Stanley was born in Sligo, Ireland, and is the only child of Irish entertainers Maisie McDaniel and Fintan Stanley. The publication was founded by Walt Grealis in February 1964, supported through its existence by record label owner Stan Klees. ''RPM'' ceased publication in November 2000. Paul Worley (born February 16, 1950 in Nashville, Tennessee) is an American record producer and session guitarist, known primarily for his work in country music. Formerly a vice president at Sony BMG, he later joined the staff of Warner Bros. Records' Nashville division as chief creative officer. Since leaving Warner in the early 2000s, Worley has worked mainly as a record producer for other acts, such as Big & Rich, as well as an occasional session guitarist. He is most widely known as the co- producer (with Victoria Shaw) of the self-titled debut album of Lady Antebellum (2008) and as one of the producers of their second album, '' Need You Now'' (2010).
