Grasscut
Grasscut are a musical group featuring composer/producer Andrew Phillips and musician/writer Marcus O'Dair. Phillips writes and produces all Grasscut music; he also sings and plays various instruments including guitar and keyboards. O'Dair manages the act and contributes keyboards and double bass. They are based in Brighton, England. History Grasscut have released two albums on Ninja Tune, ''1 inch: 1/2 Mile'' (2010) and ''Unearth'' (2012). Their third album, ''Everyone Was a Bird'', was released by Lo Recordings in 2015. Contributors to Grasscut's albums include Robert Wyatt, John Surman, Adrian Crowley, Gazelle Twin, Seb Rochford, Oddfellows Casino, and Elisabeth Nygård. Marcus O'Dair
Marcus O'Dair is an English writer, musician/manager, broadcaster and lecturer. He is most notable for his work as part of the band Grasscut, described by '' Clash'' magazine as "genuinely daring electronica artists". He is also notable for his 2015 biography of musician Robert Wyatt, a book described in the ''London Review of Books'' as "fascinating". Career O'Dair works as both a music lecturer and journalist. He is also the author of ''Different Every Time: the Authorised Biography of Robert Wyatt'', which was published by Serpent's Tail and features a foreword by Jonathan Coe. The book was described by ''The Guardian'' as "exhaustive and affectionate", and as a "meticulous and vivid account". He co-compiled the accompanying compilation, released by Domino Records. As a writer, he has written for publications including ''The Guardian'' and the ''Financial Times''. Nathan Fake
Nathan Fake is an English electronic music artist from Necton in Norfolk, England, who has released singles as well as three albums on the label Border Community Recordings. In 2006, his debut album ''Drowning in a Sea of Love'' was released on Border Community. He released a six track mini-album ''Hard Islands'' in 2009. His third album ''Steam Days'' followed in 2012. In 2014, Fake founded the label Cambria Instruments with Wesley Matsell, the inaugural release being a split single between the two artists. In February 2020, Fake announced his fifth studio album called ''Blizzards'' would be released by Cambria Instruments on 3 April 2020. In April 2021, Fake released the Sanxenxo EP on Cambria Instruments, recorded during the BLIZZARDS album jam sessions. Oddfellows Casino
Oddfellows Casino are an English band based in Brighton. At the helm is singer-songwriter David Bramwell plus an ensemble of long-serving band members and occasional collaborators including Fujiya & Miyagi’s Steve Lewis, former Stereolab bassist Simon John’s and Grasscut’s Andrew Phillips. Early history In the mid-1990s, Bramwell recorded his first album with the band Luminous, produced and released by Shimmy Disc's producer Kramer, before going solo in 2000 and forming Oddfellows Casino. Early releases on Leicester’s Pickled Egg Records included ''Yellow-Bellied Wonderland'' and ''Winter Creatures'', drawing comparisons with Robert Wyatt, The Beta Band, Red House Painters and late-period Talk Talk.
