Grant Turner (footballer)
Grant John Turner (7 October 1958 – 28 February 2023) was a New Zealand association football player who represented the New Zealand national football team, New Zealand national team 42 times in A-internationals from 1980 to 1988, scoring 15 goals. Turner was a member of the first successful All Whites campaign to qualify for the Football World Cup, World Cup, in 1982 FIFA World Cup, 1982 in Spain, where they played three group games against Scotland national football team, Scotland, Soviet Union national football team, USSR and Brazil national football team, Brazil, but he did not play in the finals due to an injury sustained soon after arrival in Spain. Lower Hutt
Lower Hutt ( mi, Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai) is a city in the Wellington Region of New Zealand. Administered by the Hutt City Council, it is one of the four cities that constitute the Wellington metropolitan area. It is New Zealand's sixth most populous city, with a population of . The total area administered by the council is around the lower half of the Hutt Valley and along the eastern shores of Wellington Harbour, of which is urban. It is separated from the city of Wellington by the harbour, and from Upper Hutt by the Taita Gorge. Charity Cup
The Charity Cup (known as the ASB Charity Cup for sponsorship reasons) is New Zealand's association football super cup, which takes place on annual basis. The competition was founded in 1978 as the NZFA Challenge Trophy. The Champions of the National Soccer League and the Chatham Cup would compete. It stopped taking place after 1987. The tournament was re-introduced in 2011 as the ASB Charity Cup. The ASB Premiership Grand Final winner meets the best performing New Zealand representative in the OFC Champions League. The 1984 New Zealand National Soccer League was the 15th season of a nationwide round-robin club competition in New Zealand football. Gisborne City finally wrestled the trophy away from the major centres, taking it to a provincial city for the first time.Hilton (1991), p. 180 Promotion and relegation Dunedin Technical did not apply for re-entry to the league, so the resumption of play-offs for league places was simply between the winners of the northern, central, and southern leagues (Auckland University, Stop Out, and Rangers respectively). Auckland University were victorious, entering the national league for the first time. Manurewa AFC is an amateur Association football, football (soccer) club in Manurewa, Auckland, New Zealand. They will compete in Lotto Sport Italia NRFL Division 1 with newly appointed head coach Marty Rodwell History Manurewa AFC was formed by the merger of Tramways (1929 Chatham Cup winner) and another club named Manurewa. The merged entity initially used the portmanteau name of Tramurewa, during which time the club won the 1931 Chatham Cup. The 1984 Chatham Cup was the 57th annual nationwide knockout football competition in New Zealand. Early stages of the competition were run in three regions (northern, central, and southern), with the National League teams receiving a bye until the fourth round (last 32) of the competition. In all, 128 teams took part in the competition. University-Mount Wellington is an association football club in Auckland, New Zealand. It was formed from the amalgamation of University AFC and Mount Wellington AFC.
