The village is located in the Gudbrandsdal valley, along the Gudbrandsdalslågen river in the southern part of the municipality. It is the commercial centre of the municipality. Øyer-Tretten Idrettsforening is a multi-sports club from Øyer, Norway. It was founded on 29 November 1990 as a merger between Øyer IL (founded on 23 November 1913 and based in Granrudmoen) and Tretten IL (founded on 31 May 1920 and based in Tretten). Hafjell
Hafjell is a village and a ski resort in Norway, in the Øyer municipality in the county of Oppland. Kunnskapsforlaget () is a Norwegian publishing company based in Oslo. Kunnskapsforlaget was established in 1975, as a partnership between H. Aschehoug & Co. (W. Nygaard) and Gyldendal Norsk Forlag.
