Grangefield Cricket Ground
The Grangefield Ground is a multi-purpose sport grounds located in Grangefield, Stockton-on-Tees, England. It focuses on cricket and rugby union. It is the home of Stockton Cricket Club since 1892 and Stockton Rugby Football Club since 2015. The rugby club came after a 67-year stay at the Norton Sports Complex. Grounds Rugby Stockton Rugby Football Club moved to The Grangefield Ground in 2015. The lease included the use of the indoor facility (which includes four changing rooms and a multi-purpose sports hall), and (initially) three rugby union pitches behind The Grangefield Academy school (which is The Grangefield Ground) whereas the clubhouse is located over the road on (community partner) Stockton Cricket Club's ground, where another 2 junior rugby union pitches are located. Grangefield, Stockton-on-Tees
Stockton-on-Tees, often simply referred to as Stockton, is a market town in the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees in County Durham, England. It is on the northern banks of the River Tees, part of the Teesside built-up area. The town had an estimated population of 84,318 in 2011. It is included in the Tees Valley mayoralty. The ports have since relocated closer to the North Sea and ships are no longer able to sail from the sea to the town due to the Tees Barrage, which was installed to manage tidal flooding. Norton is a market town in the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees, County Durham, England. It stands on higher ground to the south, further away from the River Tees than Stockton town centre. They are small areas west of the area called Roseworth and Ragworth. Billingham Beck is to the area's east, the beck flows south-east to join the river. Durham County Cricket Club (rebranded as Durham Cricket in February 2019) is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Durham. The Durham County Rugby Football Union is the governing body for the sport of rugby union in the historic county of Durham in England.
