Grande Cheese
Grande Cheese is a privately owned grocery chain in the Greater Toronto Area, Ontario, Canada. Its corporate office is located in Toronto, and had been previously located in Orangeville. History Grande Cheese was founded in 1958 by Italian immigrant Marco Contardi who immigrated to Canada in 1955 from Anzano di Puglia, Apulia. Before he immigrated to Canada, Contardi worked for a landlord tending to his sheep and cows where he learned to be a cheesemaker. Upon arriving in Canada, Contardi soon opened Grande Cheese on a small farm in Orangeville, delivering their cheeses to Italian grocery stores, restaurants, and bakeries. During the 1960s, after a third party marketing and delivery system of milk was established, Grande Cheese moved closer to Toronto, a on Milvan Drive. Later, Grande Cheese expanded to a facility in Vaughan. Orangeville, Ontario
Orangeville (Canada 2016 Census 28,900) is a town in south-central Ontario, Canada, and the seat of Dufferin County. History The first patent of land was issued to Ezekiel Benson, a land surveyor, on August 7, 1820. That was followed by land issued to Alan Robinet in 1822. In 1863, Orangeville was named after Orange Lawrence, a businessman born in Connecticut in 1796 who owned several mills in the village. As a young man, he moved to Canada and settled in Halton County. During Upper Canada Rebellion, Mackenzie's rebellion in 1837, he was a captain in the militia. Lawrence purchased the land that became Orangeville from Robert Hughson. He settled in the area in 1844 and established a mille. The post office dates from 1851. Orange Lawrence committed suicide December 15, 1861. In 1873, the Act of Incorporation was passed and Orangeville was given town status on January 1, 1874. Richmond Hill (Canada 2021 Census, 2021 population: 202,022) is a city in south-central Regional Municipality of York, York Region, Ontario, Canada. Anzano Di Puglia
Anzano di Puglia is a small town and ''comune'' in the province of Foggia and region of Apulia in southeast Italy. It rises above sea level. The town lies along the Apennines, astride the Daunian Mountains at the intersection of two ancient Roman roads, namely Via Herculea and Via Aurelia Aeclanensis, which leads to Herdonias. Such a geographical position has led to its possession changing several times over the centuries. At some times it has been in Apulia, at others in Campania.
