Grand Slam Of Show Jumping
The Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping, is a unique initiative, which unites the four Major tournaments: * The World Equestrian Festival, CHIO Aachen, Germany (Stadium, footing: grass) * The CSIO Spruce Meadows “Masters” in Calgary, Alberta, Canada (Stadium, footing: grass) * The CHI Geneva in Switzerland (Indoor arena, footing: sand) * The Dutch Masters in 's-Hertogenbosch in Netherlands (Indoor arena, footing: sand) (as of 2018) In order to win the Grand Slam, a rider has to win the Grand Prix at the four shows in direct succession. On 13 September 2015, Scott Brash became the first rider to ever win the Grand Slam. Nick Skelton
Nicholas David Skelton (born 30 December 1957, Bedworth, Warwickshire) is a British former equestrian who competed in show jumping. He retired at the age of 59 years old, on 5 April 2017. He began riding at age 18 months and in 1975 took two team silvers and an individual gold at the Junior European Championships. He has competed numerous times at the European Show Jumping Championships, winning three golds, three silvers and three bronzes both individually and with the British team over 26 years. In 1980, he competed in the Alternative Olympics, where he helped the British team to a silver medal. He currently holds the British show jumping high jump record, which he set in 1978. Martin Fuchs (born 13 July 1992) is a Swiss Olympic show jumping rider. He competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where he finished sixth in the team and ninth in the individual competition. Pedro Veniss (born 6 January 1983) is a Brazilian show jumping rider. He participated at two Summer Olympics (in 2008 and 2016). His best Olympic results came in 2016, when he finished 5th in team and 16th in individual competition at the home Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Steve Guerdat
Steve Guerdat (born 10 June 1982) is a Swiss equestrian who competes in the sport of show jumping. He is the 2012 Olympic Champion in individual jumping. He also won the bronze medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in team jumping following the disqualification of Norwegian rider Tony André Hansen. In July 2012, Guerdat was ranked third in the world. In 2019 he was the first in the FEI ranking for the whole year. In January 2020 he was second in the FEI ranking, just behind the other swiss rider Martin Fuchs. Ian Millar, CM (born 6 January 1947) is a Canadian Equestrian Team athlete for show jumping. He is a two-time winner of the Show Jumping World Cup, and an Olympic silver medalist. Due to his longevity and accomplishments, he is often nicknamed "Captain Canada" in his sport. He holds the record for most Olympic appearances by any athlete in any sport (10). Marcus Ehning (born 19 April 1974 in Südlohn, North Rhine-Westphalia) is a German show jumping champion, Olympic champion from 2000. He is married to Nadia Ehning (née Zülow). He won the Longines Global Champions Tour of Vienna Grand Prix on Plot Blue in September 2014. Horses Marcus Ehning joined the equestrian world when he was 7 years old.
