''Grand Prix 3'' is a computer racing simulator by MicroProse, released in 2000 by Hasbro Interactive. Gameplay The game is known for featuring the 1998 Formula One season (with all drivers except Jacques Villeneuve, who is instead replaced by a fictional character, John Newhouse). In August 2001 an expansion pack, ''Grand Prix 3 2000 Season'', was released, updating the game to feature the 2000 season's cars and drivers (including Villeneuve), as well as the 2 new circuits on the calendar, the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Reception Critical reviews The game received "generally favorable reviews" according to the review aggregation website Metacritic. It was not quite as well received as its predecessors, but at the time was widely considered to be the best racing simulation available. Grand Prix (Cannes Film Festival)
The Grand Prix is an award of the Cannes Film Festival bestowed by the jury of the festival on one of the competing feature films. It is the second-most prestigious prize of the festival after the Palme d'Or, and it replaced the Special Jury Prize, which was considered a "second place" award until after this award was introduced. History The award was first presented in 1967. The prize was not awarded in 1977. The festival was not held at all in 2020. In 1968, no awards were given as the festival was called off mid-way due to the May 1968 events in France. Also, the jury vote was tied, and the prize was shared by two films on 10 occasions (1967, 1971, 1976, 1978, 1989, 1990, 1994, 2011, and 2021–22). The Grand Prix is an annual award presented by the Belgian Film Critics Association (french: Union de la critique de cinéma, UCC). It was introduced in 1954 by the organizing committee to honor the film of the year "that contributed the most to the enrichment and influence of film, cinema". In December of each year, the organization meets to vote for films released in the previous calendar year. To determine the nominations, ballots are sent in by the members – select knowledgeable film enthusiasts, academics, filmmakers, and journalists – and subsequently tabulated in order to decide the winner. The Prix de Rome () or Grand Prix de Rome was a French scholarship for arts students, initially for painters and sculptors, that was established in 1663 during the reign of Louis XIV of France. Winners were awarded a bursary that allowed them to stay in Rome for three to five years at the expense of the state. The prize was extended to architecture in 1720, music in 1803 and engraving in 1804. The prestigious award was abolished in 1968 by André Malraux, then Minister of Culture, following the May 68 riots that called for cultural change. ''Grand Prix Legends'' is a computer racing simulator developed by Papyrus Design Group and published in 1998 by Sierra On-Line under the Sierra Sports banner. It simulates the 1967 Grand Prix season. Gameplay The game offers several modes in which the player can race alone or against AI opponents. The game also features multiplayer via LAN. Many parameters affecting the skill and aggressiveness of the AI drivers can be specified. Development The game was in development for three years with a team of 25 to 30 people.
