Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of , all land. The main geographic features of Grand Prairie Township include the numerous branches of the Norwegian Creek that extend throughout much of the township. The main branch of the Kanaranzi Creek also flows through the northwest corner Grand Prairie Township. Timothy James Walz ( ; born April 6, 1964) is an American politician and retired educator. A member of the Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL), he has served as the 41st governor of Minnesota since 2019. Minnesota's 1st congressional district extends across southern Minnesota from the border with South Dakota to the border with Wisconsin. It is a primarily rural district built on a strong history of agriculture, though this is changing rapidly due to strong population growth in the Rochester combined statistical area.
