Grand Forks Red River High School
Red River High School (RRHS) is a public high school located in Grand Forks, North Dakota, United States. The school was originally built in 1967 for grades 10-12, and was remodeled in 1995 to accommodate grades 9- 12. It serves approximately 1,137 students and is one of two high schools in the Grand Forks Public Schools system. The athletic teams are known as the Roughriders. The Red River in the school's name refers to the Red River of the North which flows on the east side of the city. The name Roughriders is a reference to former President Theodore Roosevelt, who spent a portion of his life in what would become western North Dakota. Red River High School is home to the Summer Performing Arts Company, a summer educational theatre program for grades K-12. Academics RRHS offers classes in a range of academic fields. Grand Forks, North Dakota
Grand Forks is the third-largest city in the state of North Dakota (after Fargo and Bismarck) and the county seat of Grand Forks County. According to the 2020 census, the city's population was 59,166. Grand Forks, along with its twin city of East Grand Forks, Minnesota, forms the center of the Grand Forks, ND-MN Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is often called Greater Grand Forks or the Grand Cities. Located on the western banks of the north-flowing Red River of the North, in a flat region known as the Red River Valley, the city is prone to flooding. Jon Godfread
Jonathan Godfread is an American politician from the state of North Dakota. A member of the Republican Party, he is the North Dakota Insurance Commissioner, and has served in the role since 2016. Early life and career Godfread is from Grand Forks, North Dakota. He attended Red River High School, and played for the school's basketball team. He graduated in 2000. He committed to attend the University of Utah to play college basketball for the Utah Utes men's basketball team. After taking a redshirt for Utah in his freshman year, he decided to transfer to the University of Northern Iowa. Ryan Potulny
Ryan Potulny (born September 5, 1984) is an American former professional ice hockey center. He is currently an assistant coach for the University of Minnesota men's ice hockey team. Playing career Potulny was drafted in the third round, 87th overall, at the 2003 NHL Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers after playing two years with the USHL's Lincoln Stars. He spent the next three seasons playing collegiate hockey with the Minnesota Golden Gophers, recording 68 goals and 50 assists for a total of 118 points in 100 games. Grant Martin Potulny (born March 4, 1980) is an American former professional ice hockey player. He is currently the head coach of the Northern Michigan Wildcats men's ice hockey team. Potulny was selected by the Ottawa Senators in the 5th round (157th overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library
The Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library is a planned museum focused on the life and legacy of Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th president of the United States. It is to be constructed at a site to the west of Medora, North Dakota, near Theodore Roosevelt National Park, which preserves sites associated with Roosevelt's travel in North Dakota between 1883 and 1887. A site in the Badlands of Medora was selected in 2020, as well as the design architect Snøhetta and the architect of record JLG Architects.
