The Grameenphone Prothom Alo Sports Awards ceremony that takes place annually since 2005. The award jury formed by five reputed sports persons of country. Mohammad Ashraful
Mohammad Ashraful ( bn, মোহাম্মদ আশরাফুল; born 7 July 1984) is a Bangladeshi cricketer, who has represented the Bangladesh national cricket team, captaining the team in all formats of the game. A top-order batsman with a penchant for flashy stroke-play, Ashraful became the youngest cricketer to make a hundred in Test cricket, on his debut as a 17 year old in 2001, against Sri Lanka. Between 2007 and 2009, Ashraful captained his country in 13 Tests, and 38 One Day Internationals (ODIs) of which Bangladesh won eight. Ashraful has scored the fastest fifty in Test, ODI and Twenty20 international amongst all Bangladeshi cricketers. Bashir Ahmed (field Hockey, Born 1941)
Bashir Ahmed (born 1941) is a retired Bangladeshi international field hockey player. Early life Bashir Ahmed was born in Mahut-tuli area in Dhaka. He studied in Armanitola Government High School. After he enrolled in the University of Dhaka, he took part in field hockey, football, cricket and athletics. He was an active sportsman during the late '50s and '60s. The Dhaka clubs he played for included Mohammedan Sporting, Victoria Sporting, Brothers Union and National Bank of Pakistan (now Sonali Bank). Career Field hockey National Hockey Chamionship Ahmed represented East Pakistan in the National Hockey Championship for several years. Kabir Ahmed (footballer)
Kabir Ahmed ( bn, কবির আহমেদ; 2 February 1935 – 3 January 2019) was a Bangladeshi football player and coach. He is one of the few East Pakistani players to have represented the Pakistan national team. He was part of the legendary East Pakistani attacking trio of Kabir, Mari Chowdhury and Ashraf Chowdhury. Club career Kabir began his career with Town Club in the Barishal First Division in 1951. At 17, he joined Bengal Government Press and won the Dhaka League. In 1953, he played for Governors XI against Kolkata Mohammedan, during an exhibition match in Dhaka. In 1955, Kabir joined Dhaka Wanderers and won the league that season. Rani Hamid (born 14 July 1944) is a Bangladeshi chess player who became the country's first Woman International Master in 1985. She has become the national champion a total of 20 times. She is the current national champion crowned on the 38th Women National Championship at the age of 75. She won her 20th National Women's Chess Championship title on September, 2019. She is also a three-time winner of the British Women's Chess Championship. She became Zonal Champion in 2018, got the Journalists Choice Award in Chess World Cup 2018 in Russia and won Gold Medal in Commonwealth Chess 2017 in Delhi. Mohammed Sujan ( bn, মোহাম্মদ সুজন; born 1 June 1982) is a retired Bangladeshi professional footballer who played as a defender and at times was deployed as a defensive midfielder. Qazi Habibul Bashar ( bn, কাজী হাবিবুল বাশার; born 17 August 1972) is a retired Bangladeshi cricketer and the former captain of the Bangladesh cricket team. Under the managership of Dav Whatmore, he has been found to be the most successful captain to lead the Bangladesh team to overcome several milestones. The first test victory of Bangladesh came under his hands in 2004 against Zimbabwe. Mashrafe Bin Mortaza ( bn, মাশরাফি বিন মর্তুজা ; born 5 October 1983), Popularly known as the 'Narail Express', is a Bangladeshi international cricketer and politician who is the former captain in all three formats of the game for the Bangladesh national cricket team and currently serves as a Member of Parliament of Narail-2 district. Shahriar Nafees Ahmed ( bn, শাহরিয়ার নাফীস আহমেদ; born: 1 May 1985) is a former Bangladeshi cricketer, who played all formats of the game, and was also a former T20I captain for Bangladesh.He made his One Day International (ODI) debut for Bangladesh in 2005 against England, and later the same year played his first Test.
