Graeme Rogerson
Graeme Arthur Rogerson is a New Zealand Thoroughbred racehorse trainer. He is notable for having trained more race-day winners than any other trainer in New Zealand and for having won many Group One races in New Zealand and Australia. Biography Rogerson was raised in Te Rapa. Before training he tried his hand at amateur riding. He originally trained horses at Cambridge before moving to Tuhikaramea Road in the 1970s. For a time he has trained in successful partnerships with Stephen Autridge and Keith Hawtin. Rogerson was the youngest New Zealand trainer to get to 1,000 winners. Rogerson branched out and established stables and partnerships in Australia and Dubai. Graeme's wife, Debbie, joined him in a training partnership and his grand-daughter, Bailey, later joined the partnership which was called Team Rogerson In the 2004 Queen's Birthday Honours, Rogerson was appointed a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM), for services to the thoroughbred industry. New Zealand Racing Hall Of Fame
The New Zealand Racing Hall of Fame recognises and honours those whose achievements have enriched the New Zealand thoroughbred horse racing industry. History The Hall of Fame's first group of honorees were inducted in 2006, and inductions are held every other year. The inaugural chairman was Gerald Fell. Due to COVID-19, the 2020 Induction dinner scheduled for 3 May 2020 was postponed. At that stage, three inductees had been announced: Mufhasa, James McDonald and Sir Peter Vela. The dinner was held on 2 May 2021 and nine new inductees were welcomed. Doncaster Handicap
The Doncaster Mile, registered as the Doncaster Handicap is an Australian Turf Club Group One Thoroughbred handicap race for horses three years old and older, held over 1,600 metres at Royal Randwick Racecourse, Sydney, Australia. Although the race has traditionally been held on Easter Monday, the race is now run on the first day of the ATC Championships Carnival at Royal Randwick. Total prize money is A$3,000,000. History The inaugural running of the Doncaster Handicap in 1866. The 1892 running of the race attracted a record 30 starters. In 1930 the race was marred by a tragic fall furlongs from the winning post when one of the favourites fell and another was destroyed. The Queensland Oaks is a Brisbane Racing Club Group 1 Thoroughbred horse race for three-year-old fillies, at set weights, run over a distance of 2400 metres at Eagle Farm Racecourse, Brisbane during the Queensland Winter Racing Carnival. The Roses, registered as The Doomben Roses, is a Brisbane Racing Club Group 3 Thoroughbred horse race for three-year-old filles, run under Set Weights conditions over a distance of 2000 metres at Doomben Racecourse, Brisbane, Australia during the Queensland Winter Racing Carnival.
