The Governor of Jeju Province () is the head of the local government of Jeju Province who is elected to a four-year term. Oh Young-hun
Oh Young-hun (; born 31 January 1969) is a South Korean politician serving as 39th Governor of Jeju Province since 1 July 2022. He previously served as member of the National Assembly from 2016 to 2022. Oh resignation as member of the National Assembly was accepted on April 29, 2022, due to his candidacy for the governor of Jeju Province in the 2022 local election. Early life and career Oh Young-hun was born on 14 December 1968 in Namjeju County (now Seogwipo), Jeju Province. He graduated from Jeju National University. Political career Oh served as a member of the Jeju Provincial Council from 2006 to 2011. 2018 South Korean Local Elections
The 7th local elections were held in South Korea on 13 June 2018. The election coincided with the by-elections for the vacant seats in the National Assembly. The election was a landslide victory for the Democratic Party of Korea, the ruling party, after two successful summits with the third inter-Korean summit on 27 April and the first North Korea-United States summit in Singapore on 12 June. People Power Party (South Korea)
The People Power Party (; PPP), formerly known as the United Future Party (; UFP), is a conservative political party in South Korea. Controlling the South Korean presidency, it is the second largest party in the National Assembly. PPP, along with its historic rival, the Democratic Party, make up the two largest political parties in South Korea. The party was formed on 17 February 2020 by the merger of the Liberty Korea Party, New Conservative Party, and Onward for Future 4.0, as well as several minor parties and political organizations. Bareun Party
The Bareun Party () was a conservative political party in South Korea, announced on 27 December 2016 with the defection of 29 anti-Park Saenuri Party lawmakers. It was known as the Conservative New Party for Reform until 8 January 2017. History The party was formed amidst a faction feud in the Liberty Korea Party (then ''Saenuri Party'') involving pro and anti-Park Geun-hye forces. The party began as a parliamentary negotiation body that split from the Saenuri Party in December 2016, and became a party in January 2017. Merger In January 2018, the party's leader, along with the People's Party leader Ahn Cheol-soo, announced their plans to merge the two parties, in an effort to bolster the two party's parliamentary standing ahead of local elections in June. Won Hee-ryong
Won Hee-ryong (born February 14, 1964) is a South Korean politician who is the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport since May 11, 2022. He was a member of the 16th, 17th, and 18th National Assembly, and a Supreme Council Member of the conservative Grand National Party. He was governor of Jeju Province until his resignation on 11 August 2021. He is known to be a moderating force during his time in the conservative Saenuri Party (GNP's successor) and does not always adopt his party's policies and convictions. The 5th local elections were held in South Korea on 2 June 2010. 2006 South Korean Local Elections
The 4th Local Elections were held in South Korea on 31 May 2006. It was the first local elections in South Korea to have political parties nominating candidates for Municipal Councillors.
