Governor Of Bohol
The Governor of Bohol ( fil, Punong Lalawigan ng Bohol) is the local chief executive of the provincial government of Bohol, Philippines. The governor holds office at the Bohol New Provincial Capitol in Tagbilaran City and its official residence is at the Governor's Mansion located along Carlos P. Garcia Avenue in Cogon District, also in Tagbilaran. Like all local government heads in the Philippines, the governor is elected via popular vote, and may not be elected for a fourth consecutive term (although the former governor may return to office after an interval of one term). In case of death, resignation or incapacity, the vice governor becomes the governor. Along with the governors of Cebu, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor, together with the city mayors of Cebu, Lapu-lapu, and Mandaue, the province's chief executive is a member of the Regional Development Council of the Central Visayas Region. Erico Aristotle Cabagnot Aumentado (born December 29, 1977), also known in Bohol as Aris, is a Filipino businessman and politician. He was a member of the House of Representatives, representing the second district of Bohol. He is the Governor of the Province of Bohol, assuming office on June 30, 2022. Early life and education Erico Aristotle is the youngest of 8 children of former Bohol governor and deputy speaker Erico Aumentado and Peregrina Cabagnot-Aumentado. Dauis
Dauis, officially the Municipality of Dauis ( ceb, Munisipalidad sa Dauis; tgl, Bayan ng Dauis), is now a 2nd class municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 52,492 people. The town has many fine beaches, resorts, and a historic church, built in the 17th century. The Hinagdanan Cave is also a draw for tourists. History Dauis is one of the oldest municipalities of Bohol, as attested by the discovery of early Chinese artifacts in the 1970s. All records of the town were destroyed in World War Two, however church records show the parish was established in 1697. The stone watchtower, now only ruins, was built in 1774. The first bridge between Poblacion of Dauis and Mansasa, Tagbilaran, was constructed by Spaniards during their reign, possibly in the 18th century. Talibon, officially the Municipality of Talibon ( ceb, Lungsod sa Talibon; tgl, Bayan ng Talibon), is a 1st class municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 71,272 people. It is located from Tagbilaran. Talibon is the seat of the diocese of Talibon and is the resident town of the bishop. The town of Talibon, Bohol celebrates its feast on the last Saturday of May to honor the town patron, the Blessed Trinity. Islands in Talibon including Nocnocan, Calituban, and Guindacpan are considered to be one of the most densely populated islands in the world. Jagna
Jagna, officially the Municipality of Jagna ( ceb, Munisipalidad sa Jagna; tgl, Bayan ng Jagna), is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 35,832 people. Jagna is located on the southern coast of Bohol. It is one of the commercial trading centers of the province with daily market and port operations. Of interest to visitors is the town church built during the Spanish era, with its ceiling frescoes and baroque architecture. A waterfall and a spring reservoir can be found on the highlands, accessible by road travel north. A marine sanctuary zone has been set up by the local government just off the shore. A double reef is protected inside the sanctuary zone and marked off by buoys to restrict access from fishers. Like Tagbilaran, Jagna is a port town. Ferries travel daily to and from other islands. Filomeno Orbeta Caseñas (April 15, 1888 – October 6, 1944) was a Boholano politician from Jagna, Bohol. He was a member of the House of Representatives of the Philippines in the 4th, 5th and 9th Legislatures in 1916–1922 and 1931–1934. Biography Filomeno Orbeta Caseñas's parents, Catalino Caseñas (November 25, 1864 – March 12, 1925) and Buenaventura Orbeta (July 12, 1866 – February 10, 1926), came from a well-to-do family in Cebu. Catalino Caseñas was a businessman who taught English to locals. During the Philippine Revolution, his house was burned down by revolutionaries. For safety reasons, the whole family moved to the mountains in barangay Cabungaan. His family returned to the town once the hostilities ceased. In 1904, Catalino was one of the few literate people in the community, and was appointed as Justice of the Peace in Jagna. However, he kept this position only for two years.
