Government Saadat College
Government Saadat College ( bn, সরকারী সা'দত কলেজ) is an old public college in Karatia, Tangail, Bangladesh. It is often referred to as Karatia College.It was established in July 1926. The college is located at Karatia near the Dhaka-Tangail highway and about from the Tangail district. First Principal of the college Ibrahim Khan who is the Founder and Principal of Bhuapur College at Bhuapur, Tangail. Later named Ibrahim Khan Govt. College. History Sadat college is the first college in Bangladesh established by a Muslim Zamindar. It was founded by Wazed Ali Khan Panni, a zamindar and educationalist of Tangail. He named it after his grandfather Saadat Ali Khan Panni. The founder member of Saadat college was Principal Ibrahim Khan. He was the first chief executive of the college. Selim Al Din
Selim Al Deen (18 August 1949 – 14 January 2008) was a Bangladeshi playwright and theatre artist. He was the founder chairperson of the Department of Drama and Dramatics at Jahangirnagar University. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1984 and Ekushey Padak in 2007 by the Government of Bangladesh for his contribution to theatre. Osman Ghani Khan
Osman Ghani Khan (1923-2000) was the former chairman of the United Nations Board of Auditors, a Bangladeshi civil servant, economist, Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and the former Member of Parliament of Pabna-2. Bonde Ali Mia
Bande Ali Mia (17 January 1906 – 27 June 1979) was a Bangladeshi poet, lyricist, novelist, dramatist, essayist, children’s writer and journalist. He was awarded the Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1962 and Ekushey Padak in 1988. Early life and career Mia was born in Radhanagar, Pabna. He passed the entrance examination in 1923 from the Majumder Academy. He then studied painting at the Indian Art Academy in Calcutta in 1927. He worked as a journalist for the magazine ''Islam Darshan''. He also taught at a Calcutta Corporation School during 1930–1950. His first book, ''Chor Jamai'', was published in 1921 by Calcutta Ashutosh Library. He authored a total of 84 books, most of which feature a rural setting. Abdul Haque
Abdul Haque ( bn, আবদুল হক; 1918–1997) was a Bangladeshi essayist, journalist and writer. He served as a deputy director of the Bangla Academy, a government-funded regulatory institution. He was posthumously awarded an Ekushey Padak in language and literature in 2011. Early life and education Haque was born in 1918, to a Bengali Muslim family in the village of Udainagar located in Nawabganj (then under Rajshahi District), part of the British Raj's Bengal Province. He passed his matriculation with a first from Kansat High School in 1936, and then a first in his Intermediate of Arts from the Government Saadat College in 1939.
