Government Hazi Mohammad Mohsin College ( bn, সরকারি হাজী মুহাম্মদ মহসিন কলেজ ) (alternatively spelled Government Hazi Muhammad Mohsin College) is one of the renowned colleges of Bangladesh located in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Named after Muhammad Mohsin, a 19th-century philanthropist, it is one of the oldest educational institutions in the country. Originally established in British India. Abdul Wahid Bengali
ʿAbd al-Wāḥid Bengālī ( bn, আব্দুল ওয়াহেদ বাঙ্গালী; c. 1850—1905) was a 19th-century Muslim theologian, teacher and social reformer. He was one of the initiators of the Deobandi movement into Bengal, and co-founded Al-Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Ulum Moinul Islam in 1896. Ohidul Alam
Ohidul Alam was a Bangladeshi writer, poet, historian, and journalist. Early life Alam was born on 1 January 1911 into a conservative Muslim family in Fateyabad, Hathazari Upazila, Chittagong District, East Bengal, British India. He showed an interest in culture at a young age, forming a culture circle with his siblings, Mahbubul Alam and Didarul Alam. He was able to interact with Abdul Quadir, Habibullah Chowdhury, and Kazi Nazrul Islam, when they visited his house. He graduated in 1936 after finishing his B.A. and completed his BEd in Chittagong. Career Alam wrote in a number of journals and newspapers. He wrote in the Purabi, which was a journal of folk arts and literature. He published Karnafulir Majhi in 1946. Abul Fazal (writer)
Abul Fazal (1 July 1903–4 May 1983) was a Bangladeshi writer and academic. He served as the 4th vice-chancellor of University of Chittagong. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1962 and Independence Day Award in 2012 (posthumously). Early life and education Fazal was born at Satkania Upazila in Chittagong District in 1903 to Moulvi Fazlur Rahman, an Imam of Chittagong Jame Masjid. Fazal earned B.A. from the University of Dhaka. He passed M.A. in Bengali language and literature from Calcutta University in 1940. Career Fazal began his career as an Imam. He taught in multiple schools as a teacher. Abdul Karim (historian)
Abdul Karim ( – 24 July 2007) was a Bangladeshi historian. He served as the 5th Vice-Chancellor of the University of Chittagong. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 1995 by the Government of Bangladesh. Early life Karim was born on 1 June 1928. In 1944 he completed his High Madrasa Examination and in 1946 his Intermediate Arts Examination. He completed his BA from University of Dhaka in 1949 and his masters in 1950. Career Karim joined the University of Dhaka as a lecturer in 1951. He was mentored by Ahmad Hasan Dani. He later went to the UK to earn his Ph.D and finished it in 1958. His desertion topic was ''Social History of the Muslims in Bengal''. Hasan Mahmud (politician)
Muhammad Hasan Mahmud (born 5 June 1963) is a Bangladesh Awami League politician who is the incumbent Member of Parliament from Chittagong-7 constituency. In January 2019, he appointed as the Bangladesh Minister of Information. He is also a Joint Secretary of the Bangladesh Awami League. Shantanu Biswas
Shantanu Biswas (25 October 1954 – 12 July 2019) was a Bangladeshi dramatist, playwright, stage director, singer-songwriter and composer. He has written and directed several full-length plays between 1975 and 2019, where he performed as an actor in more than sixteen plays. His major successes include ''Informer'' (1982), and ''Julius Ceasar er Shesh Shaat Din'' (''The Last Seven Days of Julius Caesar'') (1987).
