Self Organised Learning Environment
A Self Organized Learning Environment (SOLE) is a program designed to support self-directed education. Sugata Mitra, an education scientist, first popularized the term in 1999, referencing an approach he developed following his Hole in the Wall experiments. Mitra's experiments demonstrated that groups of kids could learn to navigate computers and the internet by themselves, and "research since then has continued to support his startling conclusion that groups of children, with access to the Internet, can learn almost anything by themselves." Starting in 2014, he's worked with and through the School in the Cloud project to support the development of SOLEs around the world, adding "Granny" mentors and Big Questions as key components of such programs. Mitra has also served as the inspiration for StartSOLE.org, a platform used by classroom educators to drive inquiry-based learning. Gouri Choudhury
Gouri Choudhury ( bn, গৌরী চৌধুরী; born May 1964) is a Bangladeshi-born British singer and music teacher. Early life Choudhury was born into a musical family in Sylhet District, East Pakistan (now Bangladesh). She started singing from the age of six. In 1984, Choudhury completed her Secondary School Certificate. In 1985, she attended Sylhet Academy of Fine Arts and gained a diploma in Folk Songs. She then studied at Sylhet Shilpakala Academy, where received a diploma in Music and her Higher School Certificate. She continued her education and went to Chittagong University in 1988, where she studied Bachelor of Arts. Gouri Dharmapal (1931—2014) was an Indian poet, Sanskrit scholar, and the former head of the department of Sanskrit at Lady Brabourne College at the University of Calcutta. Gouri Sankar Bandyopadhyay (born 26 December 1962) is a historian based in West Bengal, India. He was awarded as the Best Educationist 2015 from the International Institute of Education and Management, New Delhi, India. He is serving as the principal of Syamsundar College since 2015. Bandyopadhyay spent his early days serving as a lecturer and reader in the Department of History at Saldiha College and Bankura Christian College in Bankura, West Bengal, India. Gouri Sankar Dutta
Gouri Sankar Dutta was an Indian Politician from the state of West Bengal. He was a member of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly. He represented the Tehatta assembly constituency as a member of the All India Trinamool Congress. In March 2021, he along with Bachchu Hansda joined Bharatiya Janata Party after being denied ticket for 2021 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election. He died of COVID-19 at age 70 on 28 April 2021. Haim Gouri
Haim Gouri ( he, חיים גורי; Gurfinkel; 9 October 1923 – 31 January 2018) was an Israeli poet, novelist, journalist, and documentary filmmaker. Widely regarded as one of the country's greatest poets, he was awarded the Israel Prize for poetry in 1988, as well as being the recipient of several other prizes of national distinction.
