Gossos
Gossos ("Dogs" in Catalan) is a Spanish rock group from Manresa, Barcelona. Until 2002, their music stood out for being completely acoustic, with only guitars and bass. They later added drummer Santi Serratosa and began to electrify their sound. History In the summer of 1993, Oriol Farré, Juanjo Muñoz, Natxo Tarrés and Roger Farré, all from Manresa decided to form a group to compose and write songs. After a few concerts, they entered two contests, and in the second they won the prize of having their first album produced. Their self-titled first album was released in 1994. Their acoustic style made them stand out from other Catalan rock groups of the era and they played an increasing number of concerts around Catalonia while preparing their second disc, ''En privat'' ("In Private"), released in 1996. In 1997 they released their third album, ''Metamorfosi'' ("Metamorphosis"). The album cover does not include the title but rather an image of the four band members forming a ...

Manresa
Manresa () is the capital of the Comarca of Bages, located in the geographical centre of Catalonia, Spain, and crossed by the river Cardener. It is an industrial area with textile, metallurgical, and glass industries. The houses of Manresa are arranged around the basilica of Santa Maria de la Seu. Saint Ignatius of Loyola stopped to pray in the town on his way back from Montserrat in 1522. He also read in solitude in a cave near the town for a year, which contributed to the formulation of his Spiritual Exercises. As such, the town is a place of pilgrimage for Catholics. It is believed the comarcal name "Bages" comes from a corruption of the Latin "Bacchus" due to the extensive production of wine in the area. The wine was produced from grapes grown mainly in terraced vineyards, and many of these old terraces can be seen today. Wine ceased to be the main product of the area as a consequence of phylloxera, but is still a very important part of the Manresa/Bages economy. During the ...

In The Round
A theatre in the round, arena theatre or central staging is a space for theatre in which the audience surrounds the stage. Theatre-in-the-round was common in ancient theatre, particularly that of Greece and Rome, but was not widely explored again until the latter half of the 20th century. The Glenn Hughes Penthouse Theatre in Seattle, Washington was the first theatre-in-the-round venue built in the United States. It first opened on May 19, 1940 with a production of ''Spring Dance'', a comedy by playwright Philip Barry. The 160-seat theatre is located on the campus of the University of Washington in Seattle and is on the National Register of Historic Places. In 1947, Margo Jones established America's first professional theatre-in-the-round company when she opened her Theater '47 in Dallas. The stage design as developed by Margo Jones was used by directors in later years for such well-known shows as the Tony Award-winning musical ''Fun Home'', the original stage production of ...

Sopa De Cabra
Sopa de Cabra ('Goat Soup') is a musical group from Girona, Catalonia, Spain, active from 1986 to 2002 and since 2015. They are considered to be one of the leading representatives of the rock català movement, though the band prefer not to be placed in the same category as other Catalan-language groups, some of whom had very different musical styles, simply on the basis of singing in Catalan. Sopa de Cabra's classic songs include ''L' Empordà'', ''Camins'' ("Paths") and ''El Far del Sud'' ("The Southern Lighthouse"). In September 2011, the band reunited temporarily to mark the 25th anniversary of their formation and the tenth of their final performances with a tour of seven concerts. They reformed in 2015 and have since released two albums. History Origins, 1979–1986 Sopa de Cabra's origins can be traced to several bands formed in Girona in the early 1980s, and to the fact that all the members of what became Sopa de Cabra knew each other at that period. The band Copacaba ...
