Gordian The Tyrant
''Gordian the Tyrant'' (German: ''Gordian, der Tyrann'') is a 1937 German comedy film directed by Fred Sauer and starring Weiß Ferdl, Paul Richter and Michael von Newlinsky.Waldman p.150 The film's sets were designed by the art director Karl Böhm and Erich Czerwonski. Location shooting took place around Wasserburg in Bavaria. Synopsis A small-town official in pre-Weimar Germany stands in opposition to any progress in the area. Location shooting is the shooting of a film or television production in a real-world setting rather than a sound stage or backlot. The location may be interior or exterior. Leonhard "Leo" Peukert (26 August 1885 – 6 January 1944) was a prolific German film actor and film director, appearing in more than a hundred and fifty productions between 1910 and his death in 1944. Trude Haefelin
Trude Haefelin (1 July 1914 – 3 October 2008) was a German film and stage actress. Biography Haefelin grew up in Munich-Schwabing as a half-ore after the father had fallen in the First World War. She attended the Lyzeum of the English Miss in Wasserburg am Inn and received acting lessons at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich. She gave her stage debut at the Schauspielhaus Munich at the age of 16. She soon came to Berlin, where she appeared at the Rose Theater, at the theater on Nollendorfplatz, at the Deutsches Theater and at the Schillertheater under Heinrich George. From 1932, Haefelin participated in many film productions in often extensive supporting roles. She was often seen as "the lovely appendage of Bavarian original people" or as "the second woman, the naive, the lover". After the end of the war, she continued her film career for several years.
