Goran Nikolić (politician)
Goran Nikolić ( sr-cyr, Горан Николић; born 1967) is a politician in Serbia. He has served in the National Assembly of Serbia from 2016 to 2020, at which time he became the mayor of Odžaci. Nikolić is a member of Serbian Progressive Party. Private career Nikolić is a customs officer in Odžaci in the autonomous province of Vojvodina. Politician Nikolić received the twenty-fifth position on the Progressive Party's '' Let's Get Vojvodina Moving'' electoral list in the 2012 Vojvodina provincial election. (At this time, half the seats in the Assembly of Vojvodina were determined by proportional representation and half by single-member constituency elections.) The list won fourteen seats and Nikolić did not serve in his party's assembly delegation. 2016 Serbian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Serbia on 24 April 2016. Initially, the election were originally due to be held by March 2018, but on 17 January 2016 Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić called for a snap election claiming Serbia "needs four more years of stability so that it is ready to join the European Union". The elections were held simultaneously with provincial elections in Vojvodina and nationwide local elections. Voter turnout was 56%. Vučić's Serbian Progressive Party-led coalition retained its majority, winning 131 of the 250 seats. In contrast to the 2014 elections, a record-breaking seven non-minority lists passed the 5% threshold. The Serbs ( sr-Cyr, Срби, Srbi, ) are the most numerous South Slavic ethnic group native to the Balkans in Southeastern Europe, who share a common Serbian ancestry, culture, history and language. Aleksandar Vučić
Aleksandar Vučić ( sr-Cyrl, Александар Вучић, ; born 5 March 1970) is a Serbian politician serving as the president of Serbia since 2017, and as the president of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) since 2012. Vučić served as the Prime Minister of Serbia in two terms, from 2014 to 2016 and from 2016 until 2017, as well as the deputy prime minister from 2012 until 2014.
