Goodwood Road, Adelaide
Goodwood Road (and its southern sections as Fiveash Drive and Ayliffes Road) is a major north–south arterial road, approximately 10 kilometres long, in Adelaide, South Australia. It runs between the Adelaide city centre and Adelaide's southern suburbs of Pasadena and Panorama Route Goodwood commences at the intersection of Anzac Highway, West Terrace and South Terrace in the south-western corner of the Adelaide city centre and heads south, through the southern Adelaide Parklands to meet with Greenhill Road. It continues south through Wayville, passing the Royal Adelaide Showgrounds. The traffic lights at Leader Street mark the boundary with the suburb of Goodwood, and the location of the Goodwood Park Hotel. West Terrace, Adelaide
West Terrace is a street in Adelaide, South Australia. It is the westernmost street of the Adelaide city centre. It ends at North Terrace and South Terrace, and connects to Port Road and Anzac Highway. The southern end of West Terrace, where it connects to Goodwood Road and Anzac Highway, is home to a Rydges Hotel and the West Terrace Cemetery. The northern reaches are occupied by several car dealerships, and hq, Adelaide's largest nightclub. The remainder of West Terrace is occupied by fast food outlets and smaller shops. Wayville, South Australia
Wayville is an inner-southern suburb of Adelaide in the City of Unley. It is most notable for hosting of the Royal Adelaide Show at the Adelaide Showgrounds. The suburb is bordered to the north by Adelaide's South Parklands, to the west by Adelaide-Goodwood railway line, to the east by King William Road, and to the south by Leader Street, Parsons Street and Simpson Parade. Keswick Creek, a tributary of the Brown Hill Creek and Patawalonga River, flows through the southern side of the suburb. Belair Railway Line
The Belair railway line is a suburban rail commuter route in the city of Adelaide, South Australia, that runs from the Adelaide station to Belair in the Adelaide Hills via the Adelaide-Wolseley line using diesel 3000/3100 class railcars. Prior to 1995, this part of Adelaide-Wolseley was a two-track broad gauge line. In 1995, Adelaide-Wolseley was converted to standard gauge meaning Adelaide to Belair is now effectively two separate single-track lines running in parallel: the Belair commuter line (still broad gauge) and the Adelaide-Wolseley standard gauge freight line. Millswood Railway Station
Millswood railway station is located on the Belair line in Adelaide. Situated in the Adelaide suburb of Millswood, it is from Adelaide station. History The station opened circa 1910. The platforms were constructed of earth-filled concrete each side of the dual tracks, which were both broad gauge until 1995. There were timber framed, iron clad open passenger shelters on each platform. The two outbound Unley Park and Hawthorn stations had similar shelters. A ticket office was provided on the Up (western) platform until being demolished in 1985, and the original shelters were removed in March 1988 and replaced with the bus stop type shelters seen at some stations on the TransAdelaide network. Millswood station closed on 28 April 1995, simultaneously with stations at Clapham and Hawthorn despite criticism from nearby residents, with the conversion of the Adelaide-Wolseley line to standard gauge under the One Nation programme. Millswood is an inner-southern mainly residential suburb of Adelaide in the City of Unley. It was named after Scotsman Samuel Mills, who arrived in the colony in 1839. Description The suburb is dissected by Goodwood Road, which travels north to the Adelaide city centre from the southern suburb of Pasadena. On the west side of Goodwood Road it is surrounded by the suburbs of Goodwood, Forestville, Black Forest and Clarence Park. On the east side of Goodwood Road it is surrounded by the suburbs of Goodwood, Hyde Park, Unley Park and Kings Park. Goodwood Primary School
Goodwood Primary School is a primary school in the Adelaide inner southern suburb of Goodwood, South Australia. It currently has an enrolment of around 400 students. Capri Theatre
The Capri Theatre is a heritage-listed cinema in Goodwood, a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia, built in the Art Deco style in 1941. It was formerly called the New Star Theatre, Goodwood Star, New Curzon, and Cinema Capri. It is owned by and is home to the Theatre Organ Society of Australia (SA Division).
