Goodmans LLP is a Canadian corporate law firm. First established in Toronto in 1917 by David Bertram Goodman, Goodmans LLP now has approximately 200 lawyers. Dale Lastman
Dale Howard Lastman (born 19 March 1957) is a Canadian lawyer who serves as Chair of Goodmans law firm. He is the elder son of the late Mel Lastman, who was Mayor of Toronto from 1998 to 2003. Career and community involvement Dale practices corporate, commercial and securities law with Goodmans. He serves as a Director of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment and serves as an Alternate Governor for both the NHL and the NBA. Bob Rae
Robert Keith Rae (born August 2, 1948) is a Canadian diplomat and former politician who is the current Canadian Ambassador to the United Nations since 2020. He previously served as the 21st premier of Ontario from 1990 to 1995, leader of the Ontario New Democratic Party from 1982 to 1996, and interim leader of the Liberal Party of Canada from 2011 to 2013. Between 1978 and 2013, he was elected 11 times to federal (Broadview, Broadview-Greenwood, Toronto Centre) and provincial (York South) parliaments. Allan Leibel
Allan Leibel (born 28 February 1945) is a former Canadian sailor who competed in the 1972 Summer Olympics and the 1976 Summer Olympics. Leibel presently serves as a member of the Canadian Olympic Association and as a member of the International Sailing Federation Review Board. Leibel attended the University of Toronto, earning a B.Comm degree in 1967 and an LL.B. degree in 1970. In 1972, he joined the Toronto law firm Goodmans, where he served as co-chair and continues to serve as counsel. Leibel focuses on municipal law and is a noted authority on development matters in the Toronto area. Mike Harris
Michael Deane Harris (born January 23, 1945) is a Canadian retired politician who served as the 22nd premier of Ontario from 1995 to 2002 and leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Ontario (PC Party) from 1990 to 2002. During his time as party leader, he heavily nudged the Ontario PC Party to Blue Toryism, advocating for the "Common Sense Revolution", his government's program of deficit reduction in combination with lower taxes and budget cuts. Gord Kirke
Gordon I. Kirke (born 1945/1946) is a Canadian sports and entertainment lawyer, university professor, and regular commentator on radio and television. He is a graduate of the Osgoode Hall Law School, and has Bachelor of Laws and Master of Laws degrees. He has been legal counsel to the Toronto Blue Jays since 1976, and prepared the original documents which led to the team's foundation. He was involved in contract negotiations in the Eric Lindros trade, and later became a player agent representing 45 National Hockey League players. Kirke teaches law at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, and the Osgoode Hall Law School. He has published articles on law, and authored the 1997 ''Players First Report'' on sexual abuse and harassment in ice hockey. Herb Solway, KC is a founding member of the Toronto law firm Goodmans. Herb joined the firm in 1955 and served as its chair from 1982 to 1994. For five decades he was the linchpin in building the firm through a highly successful student recruitment program.
