Golla Babu Rao
Golla Babu Rao (born 10 August 1954) is an Indian politician, currently serving as Rajya Sabha member representing YSR Congress Party. He also served as APPSC Group I officer. Before entering politics, Babu Rao worked as a Joint Commissioner of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development in Hyderabad, Telangana. He was elected thrice to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Payakaraopet. He contested for 2009, 2014, 2019 and one by election 2012, except 2014 he won all the remaining three elections. On 20 February 2024, he was unanimously elected to the Rajya Sabha as a YSR Congress Party candidate along with Y. V. Subba Reddy and Meda Raghunath Reddy. 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election
The 2019 Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections were held in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh on 11 April 2019 for constituting the fifteenth Legislative Assembly in the state. They were held alongside the 2019 Indian general election. The YSR Congress Party won the election in a landslide, winning 151 of the 175 seats, with the incumbent Telugu Desam Party winning just 23. The Jana Sena Party entered the legislature with one seat, while the Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party failed to win any seats. YS Rajasekhara Reddy
Yeduguri Sandinti Rajasekhara Reddy (8 July 1949 – 2 September 2009), popularly known as YSR, was the 14th chief minister of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, serving from 2004 to 2009. Reddy was elected to the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th Lok Sabha from the Kadapa constituency for four terms and to the Andhra Pradesh Assembly for five terms from the Pulivendula constituency. He won every election he contested. In 2003 he undertook a three-month-long padayatra, or walking tour, of during the very hot summer months, across several districts in Andhra Pradesh as a part of his election campaign. He led his party to victory in the following general and assembly elections held in 2004, and did the same in 2009. East Godavari
East Godavari is a district in the Coastal Andhra region of Andhra Pradesh, India. Its district headquarters is at Rajahmundry. As of 2011 Census of India, census 2011, it became the most populous district of the state with a population of 5,151,549. In the Madras Presidency, the District of Rajahmundry was created in 1823. It was reorganised in 1859 and was bifurcated into Godavari and Krishna district, Krishna districts. During British rule, Rajahmundry was the headquarters of Godavari District, which was further bifurcated into East Godavari and West Godavari districts in 1925. Kadapa (colonial spelled Cuddapah) is a city in the southern part of Andhra Pradesh, India. It is located in the Rayalaseema region, and is the district headquarters of YSR Kadapa district.
